Default Veet anygood?

I saw some on sale at Wally World last night, but I didn't get it. Nair totally does not work for me. To get it to remove ANY hair I have to leave it on so long it burns and turns my skin red, and it doesn't even remove half the hair (on my arms and legs). Anybody used it with good results?

I like Veet, it works for me. Nair makes me break out and irritates my skin, but Veet seems to work. My hair is very coarse, so I have to leave it on for the whole recommended time to get all the hair off. I also have discovered that near and during my period my skin is more sensitive so I cannot use it then. Even the sensitive skin formula irritates my skin during that time of the month. The other 3 weeks of the month are no problem.

I actually just tried Veet for the first time, I left it on for a few minutes longer than their max stated time and it still didnt get rid of all the hair, maybe half or so. Very disappointed. I came to the board to ask a question about any that actually WORK. lol

I have tried a few creams now, and none seem to be made to shift the hard kind of stubble i always put it down to being for women who are lucky enough to get "soft light hairs" I'd love to know if there is a cream which has abit more power to it.

I have tried it, but it started to remove my skin and leave the hair behind!! I am very sensitive to those things, though.

I once tried "magic" (at least i THINK that's what it's called). It's made primarily for african american men (with much more coarse hair). It is to be used on their facial hair to help prevent ingrown hairs & sort of for the more sensitive skin on faces.

I did use it a few years ago and if I recall correctly, it did work (And i have very dark, coarse hair that grows back very rapidly...hafta shave everyday!). It was just a bit messy, in that it came as a powder you mix with water and then apply. I got it at Sally Beauty Supply and I was able to find it on the website. Here's a link:

http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/6200/306011

I also tried nair recently and hated it. It was even the sensitive skin type (and I don't think my skin is that sensitive!). I let it on for the full 10 minutes and while it DID remove most of the hair, my skin was so red & itchy and inflamed, it looked horrible. I do admit though, that my legs did feel very smooth.
I'm also curious about veet, especially with shorts season here, i HATE to waste so much time shaving everyday. Hope I was able to help & happy hair removal to all!!!

Thumbs up Luv Veet

Hi, I WISH I could find some Veet on sale so I could stock up! I usually use about 2 bottles to do everything like legs arms etc. Nair never worked for me, no matter what I did with it. But, Veet has worked great for me. I have very coarse hair and it removes it all. I leave it on for the max time on legs. Usually there is a bit of redness and it goes away in about an hour. I need to buy stock in it as it does cost me a pretty penny. Hope it works great for you also if you try it. Jean

A lady i was speaking to earlier today, has found "SURGI CREAM", apparently it's fab. No burning, removes course stubble, You don't need to grow your hair out for it, and it's cheaper then alot of the other creams.

Apparently (and i've read a few comments about it) It's great!!!

It's Available in the UK and America etc as i did a search on google.

Anyway hope this info helps some of you.

I can't use the creams either. I have no problems with it on, but if I get any sun on the spot after using it I get hyper-pigmentation and it lasts for ages. Basically it just looks like I have a really deep tan wherever I've used the cream, which isn't terribly good when you use it on your top lip!

I use an epilator now. I don't find it hurts too much, it's easier then waxing, and it keeps the hair away for a few weeks. I only use it on my face though, the rest of the place I shave.

Is this "Sugri Cream" a wax?? Or is it similar to Veet where you apply, let stand, then wipe off? Thanks for informing me! Jean

Citrine, i believe it's like Nair, a pop it on and wipe it off cream.

Apparently it's absolutely brilliant, i have ordered some and i'm in the UK but i believe you can find it in shops over in the states. (Do a google search).

It's by "SURGI" and the one i have ordered is for "Face and Legs" but you can also get an Eyebrow one, and a few others.

And it's cheaper then alot of creams, so i can afford to use it alot, which is good, because i'd go bankrupt if i had to spend a fortune every week
