Question Vegetarian?

I am thinking about becoming a vegetarian now..
I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on sites or books with recipes So far I have 5 books and tried many recipes but there one serving suggestion doesn't fill me up, and so far they just look like veggie or fruit salads.
Also, if I cut out the meat, will that effect anything? Like my periods?(have not had one in 8 months) or anything to do with PCOS?
Thanks!

You may want to talk to a nutritionist...if all the recipes in your vegetarian cookbooks look like fruit and veggie salads, then you might not have a balanced diet. I can't remember the exact title, but I'd checked out a book from the library...something along the lines of "The meat and potatoes vegetarian cookbook" or "vegetarianism for the meat and potatoes partner" It had a lot of good hearty meals that were balanced so that you had enough protein to feel full and still have a healthier diet. I tend to check cookbooks out from the library and see if there's more that 1 or 2 recipes I want from it before I actually buy a copy for myself.

I've been vegetarian for 4 years now. It's much easier to stick to if you keep a pro-veggie argument in your mind (for me, it's reading "Fast Food Nation" and overall aversion to antibiotics in my food). Try substituting your normal diet with more ethnic foods, as it will make the chickpeas, tofu, and beans taste more interesting. Try making curries or stirfries with lots of spice.
