Wink verity support group meeting

Hi all,

I went to the support group meeting of Verity in Edinburgh yesterday. It was the second meeting l had attended and l have to say l found it very useful. There is something to be said for being in a room full of individuals who have this syndrome. We had a back to basics talk on PCOS with Dr Fleming with slides and everything!! In the afternoon he discussed the value of metformin for IR. Basically combining met. with a little exercise and a healthy diet seems to work wonders. Although he is no longer doing any clinical trials l spoke to him and he said l should try for a referral to Glasgow Infirmary so that is my plan!!! There was also a talk from a dietician it was what you would expect dont eat mars bars try a healthier option. I also found out that the GRI runs a support group once a month for PCOS which l signed up for and l am quite excited about. However the main thing about the day was being in a room full of people who you dont have to explain PCOS to - it was worthwhile going for that alone!!! Feel pretty motivated now off to take the dog out!!!
