Default Is Vertigo a reaction to Met

I've been on Met now for about 4 months and about 2 weeks ago I started getting vertigo when I stand up. Is this a delayed reaction to Met? Thanks ahead of time.

Oh my gosh! Did I write this post? I've been on Met since October, and I also have just started having weird things happen when I stand up.

I don't get "room spin" dizzy, but my vision gets cloudy/fuzzy for a few seconds and I feel a little disoriented. I was thinking it was a blood pressure thing...but who knows. It never happened to me before a few weeks ago.

I'm curious to see if anyone else has the same issue.

Sorry...no help, but I'm with you on this one!

Amanda

Wow how weird is this cause I've never had this happen to me besides in the summer when I'm on and off boats. Ya I feel strange at times when I get up and I don't feel sick either just kind of disorientated like you said.

It will be interesting to see if anyone has this.

Hi...new here....I have occasional dizziness, but I have a lot of rumbling in my ears. You know like there is water trapped in my ear, similiar to what you sometimes experience from swimming. Strange, huh??

Boo - That sounds like Minieres. I have that, too.. but since I got my thryoid under control, that is much better. A water pill and some steroids from the Dr. helps that a ton. I couldn't STAND that feeling. It almost made me crazy.

I also have the same thing happen when I stand up. Everything gets blurry and bright and there's a pounding on my head. I don't know if it's specifically blood pressure, as I am on blood pressure medication and it keeps my pressure normal. I test it at home and it hasn't gone up unless I'm working out which is probably normal from all the movement.

I get dizzy a LOT and I think it's just the met. The side effects from the prescription says dizziness, low blood sugar, etc which could all lead to it. I just sit back down and take a few seconds to recover when it happens.

Yeah, I've noticed that since I upped the dose to 1500mg/day that I've started to feel dizzy when I stand up and as if there are bright lights shining in my eyes. Very strange feeling.

Bumping this thread up to see if anyone has figured out how to control this dizziness or found out what causes it! Thanks!

I don't think vertigo is a side effect...however I get a little dizzy when my blood sugar is low...so maybe that's what's going on with you.
