Unhappy Very Worried!

Hi everyone!

My name is Nicole & I'm 22.. I was told in my early teens that I had PCOS.. I think I was 15.. I would never get my period regular.. & when it did come it knocked me off my feet!

At 18 I got VERY lucky & got pregnant.. I had a rough pregnancy gave birth at 19 to a beautiful happy healthy little girl in june 2006! I bleed for a week of so and then it stopped.. I got my period again Oct 27th & bleed from that day until May 21st 2007.. I had a D&C.. that didn't help.. My Dr. finally gave me the BC shot & 2 different BC pills to stop it.. if that didn't help he was afraid he would have to do a histerectomy! Like I said I was only 19!!

Well after it finally stopped I didn't get my period again until March 28th 2009.. and I'm STILL bleeding.. very heavy just like last time! I have no insurance.. & I have since moved to far to get back to my old DR. I'm worried that if I got to the hospital they won't know what to do! I'm so scared though.. I feel that the hosptial should be my last stop! I want another child & I'm so afraid of that dreaded "H" word!!

I guess my question to all of you is has any one gone through this? When is it time to throw in the towel and take a trip to the hospital.. I'm so lost.. I'm very close to my parents and they are so worried, but just don't get the pros & cons of all of this... I honestly feel very alone! Please any help or advise would be wonderful!

- Nicole

Im such a natural health advocate. Purhaps try and see if you can find a Naturopath in the area that can help treat you. Its doing wonders for me. and I used to have then "endless bleed" as well. Now. I've gotten my periodon my own, without BCP-- and I am doing wonderfully so far (only started in Feb.

But word of caution, your eally need to believe and do everything the ND says. It is expensive at first, but well worth it. It does take a little time, about 6 months or so, before some start to see result--Im a bit more sensitive and saw result almost immediately. So it all depends on your body. Goodluck!

Hi Nicole, I also am dealing with long heavy periods, I went to my new gyno and she said because I go so long with out a period it just keeps building up and my lining gets thicker and thicker so when it get to thick it sheds causing a heavy flow that lasts for weeks with large clots(sorry gross i know) she put me on a large dose of progestrone(prometrium) and it is suppose to help stop the build up of the lining. I beleive birth control can help as well and will regulate your period. I would try to find a pco friendly gyno. I hope this helps and know that there are others like you dealing with the same thing. This is a great site for info.
