I'm not a fan really but I did feel sorry for her more than usual when in the shop I saw her acne plastered all over one of the "celebirty gossip" magazines Blaming it on alcohol or something stupid like that.......
Poor woman. I know how bad I feel and not wanting people to see my acne face let alone it be all in a photo and then plastered over a magazine like that especially when it's obviuously a medical thing

It would figure, when you think of it... I never knew about Jools Oliver or Emma Thompson before, either but I suppose if one in ten women have PCOS, around one in ten female celebs will too! Although maybe not many have come out, or have even been diagnosed?
It's particularly bad that those magazines have done that to her, as she's presumably been *out* about her PCOS, before now, with them.

It honestly bothers me when tabloids use celebrities as targets. I understand with their way of life people are going to wonder about them, and I don't down GOOD responsible reporting, like People Magazie, Cosmo, Redbook, and magazines who actually TALK to the celebrity. But tabloid trash like the Enquirer, Star, and such, they just want to magnify any flaw they have, or make them look like these crazy people! They are human beings, just because they have money, doesn't mean their feelings don't count. I think it sucks they did that to Victoria Beckam, or to anyone else for that matter.

"You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar."
Thanks for that article, it's another one I hadn't seen before!
Suzi, it really bothers me too how those "type" of magazines almost go out of their way to find bad stuff about someone to pick on. It disgusts me more & more each time I go in a shop and see such things Personal things like weight, health issues etc., it's just wrong.
I found a pic of one of the front cover I meant which I will post. They way they wrote "ACNE SHAME" really made me angry!!!!!!!
To be honest, I didn't read he article but I might do later when I go shopping (not buy it though!) and see wat it does actually say in the article.

She must be lying. She claims her drastic weight loss happened as a result of it, anybody here had that? No, me neither. She also seems to have easily got pregnant 3 times, which I'm sure many people in here would take issue with.
If she is lying about it, which I strongly suspect she is, then I think it's disgraceful that she's telling people she has it. It diminishes the experience of the women that really do have to live with the day-to-day crap that PCOS throws at us.
Not so sure, Gill. I was diagnosed with it in 1990 at the Birmingham Women's hospital - blood tests, scans, the lot. The consultant told me it was a definite diagnosis - you either have it or not, so no doubts. Looking back, I know I had strong symptoms since I was 16. For many years I weighed 6 and a half stone (ate massive fry-ups, entire packets of chocky biccies, so not got food issues!). After university I was a healthy 9 and a half stones (am average height) for years and years - also with no attention to diet although loads of exercise. I had PCOS when I probably made Victoria look chubby - and I had PCOS ever since. And I had 5 kids. Only one with any medical intervention - despite being told by another consultant the odds were 'thousands to one' I cocneived my first son, and even greater I'd ever conceive again.
You can have PCOS and be rail thin! I was til I was 30. You can have PCOS and conceive loads of kids - I did, and most of them in my 30s and 40s! In fact, she probably has it worse than me because I've never had acne.

If I had the money for nothing but the best in medical treatment, specialists, personal trainers/dieticians, makeup, cosmetic surgery, facials/peels, goodness knows what else and have most my photos airbrushed no doubt we could all look like Victoria.
Photos of her before and around the time of Spice Girls show her with skin problems. Also, I'm sure I remember in an interview she said she gave up ballet and things because of her weight?

I dont see why she would lie about having PCOS. Not everybody who has PCOS has weight problems or has trouble conceiving.
In fact I remember before she had the first son (sorry cant remember his name) reading an article of how scared she was that she wouldnt be able to have children because she had PCOS. She has also had anorexia so that prob why she so skinny.

My ex was an actor and got a very large sum of money once from a tabloid, when he sued them for writing 'lies' about him... They settled out of court. Turned out he was acting in his personal life as well as everywhere else and he's since been sent to prison for doing the very things the tabloids 'lied' about him doing! You won't have read about it in the tabloids because the police got a press embargo in place, ironically to protect my ex who was mentally ill. He swore blind, over several years, this Sunday paper had lied in the story they wrote about him and walked away with £20,000 to shut him up. And the press weren't lying at all, as it turns out! So although you should read everything with caution - you should also be aware that sometimes journalists are exposing the truth, too! I have no time for the Beckhams as a rule but I did feel sorry for Victoria B in this case as she was already on the record about her PCOS, and clearly not lying. I've had friends who were journos too, in my time, and they're not all scumbags!

I've read about lots of stars who apparently have PCOS - two of them from Hearsay. I was quite amazed when Suzanne said how surprised (and relieved (explained her symptoms)) she was to learn she had PCOS because Kym Marsh had been diagnosed a couple of years previously - unless of course the press have got it all wrong.
As for Posh Spice she may well be like me - before the birth of my son I had terrible symptoms and rarely ovulated. But since his birth I ovulate regularly and the symptoms are no way as bad as before. Maybe something similar happened to Posh.
The press drive me mad particularly in relation to people who are overweight. On the one hand they write about how terrible it is that young women are being driven to anorexia by all these glossy photos of skinny models but on the other hand the minute a star has a doughtnut or two and gets a bit of a belly they photograph them and slag them off. So in my opinion the papers do worse than the glossy pictures of models do.
