OMG i can drink vinager plain no problem LOL I love it! I make cucumbers with vinager and salt and pepper and eat the cukes and drink the vinager. Dh thinks i am nuts but my moms side of the family is the same way from my grandpa and grandma and all her sisters and some of my cousins. I dont mind it one bit.
Its also good with olive oil vinager salt and pepper on a salad YUM!
I might try slicing up some cucumbers each day and soaking them in my 2tbls of vinegar. With some salt and pepper, this should be quite tasty!
I can't bear to drink another glass of vinegar water, but I WILL tell you that it completely blunted my hunger for the rest of the evening.
This ought to be a neat experiment

I might try it over raw spinach, too. (I'm am VERY lazy in the kitchen, so I'm not even looking forward to slicing cucumbers. With spinach, I just have to take some out of the bag...)
ETA
I just swigged a teaspoon full straight (before my breakfast). It was totally tolerable.
(I don't know how FOUR teaspoons (or two tablespoons) will go, but 1 was perfectly ok.

Kat - It was easier to do a straight teaspoon, than to dilute it? Hum!
WAY easier. Water didn't do too much to dilute it. It just ended up tasting like 16 ounces of straight vinegar.
Having said that...
ONE teaspoon was easy. I just did FOUR, and it was a bit rough. Have something on hand to drink in between teaspoons, so you won't gag or burn out your throat. (pleasant, eh?)
Next time I'm going to try 2 TABLESPOONS - maybe that will at least cut the torture in half.
If that doesn't work, it's off to the grocery store for spinach and cuc's.

YUM - my family has done the cuke and vinegar thing ever since I can remember. I LOVE it. I also love vinegar! This should be easy to try - count me in!!!

Day 1 of the vinegar was not too good for me!!! I can't stand the taste of it!!!! OMG! I tried it with cucumbers and then sucked it up like the woman I thought I was and took the two tablespoons. YUCK!!!!!!
I'm not sure what Day 2 of the vinegar is going to be!! Hope I can handle it and it will get easier!!!!!

The cuke trick worked for me. Totally tolerable, and even down right delish!
I pressed a clove of garlic into the mix, along with some dill, and a few spices. YUM!
An interesting side effect...I was absolutely NOT hungry by the time I finished my cukes. I'm sitting here now with my dinner on my plate, and I don't even want it. Hmmm.

These days, apple cider vinegar can be found as a staple in millions of household kitchens worldwide. There are so many unknown uses for this powerful cleansing and healing agent!
The versatility of vinegar is legendary and is proven to help keep the body healthy, youthful, and ageless! It was used by the Egyptians in 3000 BCE, as well as the Babylonians, and Julius Caesar's army used vinegar tonic to stay healthy and fight off disease. Hippocrates, in 400 BC, treated his patients with apple cider vinegar
organic apples
The Greeks and Romans kept vinegar vessels for healing and for flavoring and preserving food. In Paris, vinegar was sold by the barrel and used for deodorant and for a delicious tonic drink to keep the body ageless. Even Christopher Columbus took vinegar barrels for his sailors on his long sea travels to prevent scurvy and disinfect wounds.
Most people don't know how wonderful vinegar is. Its cleansing properties are known to aid digestion by stimulating the flow of enzymes and saliva in the mouth. Vinegar has been shown to support a healthy heart.
Vinegar can do everything from relieving muscle pain from exercise, balancing pH levels, soothing sore throats, and normalizing weight and helping to maintain levels of cholesterol already in the normal range. Externally, it is effective in supporting healthy skin and hair. Use it topically to give yourself a vinegar facial for toning or clearing up non-cystic acne and exfoliating dry dull skin. Gently rub your skin with a soft cotton ball dipped in vinegar and watch your skin glow! It's also great for animals-use it as a soothing after-bath rinse for cats and dogs to eliminate dry skin. Just as with people, it is also helpful in older animals. The high acidity and powerful enzymes in apple cider vinegar also supports a healthy scalp. Try a rinse of apple cider vinegar after you wash your hair. It gives hair incredible shine and bounce!
It's so easy to incorporate vinegar into your daily diet. When you wake up in the morning just make a delicious cocktail using 2 teaspoons of raw, organic apple cider vinegar, and if you need a sweetener, use organic honey, 100% maple syrup, or molasses to taste. If you are diabetic, use the sweet substitute stevia. I recommend you use only distilled water. This "Bragg Healthy Cocktail" is designed to flush out wastes that are clogging the organs of elimination, the bowels, lungs, skin, and the kidneys. Take it at least twice a day, and you will start to see changes like increased energy, soft skin, and decreased muscle and joint aches from exercise. Make sure you use raw, organic vinegar, never dead, distilled vinegar because the natural enzymes, minerals, and nutrients are destroyed in the distilling process. Any vinegar that is clear and has no "mother" (the strand-like substance in the bottom of the bottle) has no nutritional value. Natural raw vinegar should be pungent, with a rich, brownish color and avisible "mother." Drinking apple cider vinegar daily, and eating a largely fresh, organic, vegetarian diet, along with following a simple fitness program, will change your life so dramatically you will never go back to your old ways! Get fit, get healthy, and live a long and happy life!

I've been a vinegar freak since I was little - it goes on everything!
Have to say though Aly - I can remember trying vinegar and honey - can't remember why and it's really awful!

Got to wean myself off that carb overload I've been having lately...... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 0 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I have heard that taking vinegar straight (without diluting it) can dissolve the calcium in your teeth, so rinsing or drinking water immediately after taking the vinegar is recommended. (In fact, soaking egg shells in vinegar will dissolve them quickly, because egg shells contain so much calcium, and you can drink the resulting solution as a calcium supplement).
Thought I'd share this post from a diabetic board from someone who did an experiment with vinegar:
Hi All
Just wanted to tell you folks about an experiment I did earlier with what I
think are pretty amazing results.
Quick background: I was dx back in Aug with an A1C of 7%. At the time I
weighed 225lbs (i'm 5'11")
I now weigh 148lbs : ) LOTS of hard core weight lifting and bike riding and
lo carb eating.
Ocassionally I eat something I know I shouldnt such as a BIG mexican dinner,
or cheeseburger and fries, etc and my
BG goes way up. The highest reading i've ever had was a 196 which freaked me
out(although I immediatly re-tested and
got a 175 but still...) but I still fall off the lo carb bandwagon here and
there and eat some high carb junk. Not all day, just one meal.
Today, after reading about vinegar supposedly helping with sharp spikes, I
decided to give it a go.
The meal : McDonalds (I know, I should of at least eat good junk food
Quarter Pounder w/cheese, fries, apple pie, water.
Immediately before eating I had 2 tablespoons of vinegar. It wasnt near as
bad as I thought it would be. I diluted it with about 4 oz
of water.I thought I would upchuck but it was kinda funky in a cool way : )
45 min after eating I was at 203 !!! Higher than I've ever seen (I'm sure
i've been that high before but didnt catch it) I tested
again right away on a different meter and got 211. Well, so much for
vinegar...but wait...
15 minutes later I was at 133 on one meter and 131 on the other.
45 minutes after that I was 83 on one meter and 85 on the other.
I've NEVER had a drop like that.Whenever in the past that I rose myself up
to 170ish or 150ish it took quite awhile to come back
down.NEVER down to normal that fast. Usually about 4 or more hours.
I'm blown away. I cant wait to try it with food thats not so high carb.
BTW, I know that I shouldnt be eating like that ever. And after today i'm
gonna stay away from crap like that (well maybe on my birthday or
something...and then it will be Jack-n-the Box : )
What do you folks think? I cant believe I dropped like that. I wonder if it
somehow stopped the digestion of glucose or rather opened up my insulin
receptors thus taking away my IR (?)
anyways, just thought ya'll would be interested.
OFD
Linda

Oh did it ever kill my appetite. Although I didn't like it, I'm up for day 2 with vinegar!!!!
Day 2, and once again, by the time I finished my cuke mix, I had ZERO appetite left. I'm still going to eat my lunch, however, or I won't have enough fuel for the gym.
Thanks for the 'teeth' tip, Nobimbo!
ETA
After my cuke salad, I MADE myself finish my small lunch (about 350 calories), and I have to admit that I REALLY didn't want to eat it all. While I'm not 'stuffed' or 'super full' right now, I'm MORE than satieted (and I was REALLY hungry before I ate the cukes...)
kinda weird.
