I hate and absolutely detest vinegar. Oh, it's on my top 10 hates food lists...
But I do love pickles. How many pickles should I eat to get a similar benefits to the 2 spoons of vinegar? Could I (gag) take two spoons of pickle juice instead? It sounds SOOOOO gross, but I think I could do that easier than vinegar!
Wish I liked a cuke/vinegar salad. I know people who do, and it's both filling AND full of vinegar!

Gag is right!
My guess is if you ate two LARGE pickles you'd be safe. (probably even one).
I'm making my cuke salad out of one small pickling cuke. The batches that I made yesterday, still had some vinegar in the container (the cukes didn't 'suck' it all up), but there was maybe only 2 teaspoons left. My 'guess' is that if I had put TWO pickling cukes in the container, all of the liquid would be gone. (but that's just a guess...)

I made it through day 2. It actually wasn't as bad today! Did 2 straight s tablespoon shots before each meal. Afterwards, I had to have something to chase it with. I wasn't hungry either. Don't know if it's all in my head or what, but, Hey, I'm ready for tomorrow. I did find out it was much easier today, because I let the vinegar chill in the fridge, whereas, yesterday, it was pretty much at room temp!
I can't wait to see if there is going to be a difference in weight or energy level in a few weeks!!!!!

Hmm, maybe I'll chill mine tonight, and see if I can take it straight.
Personally, I'm starting to think the people in the study lost weight because the vinegar killed their appetite and they ate less.
Again, here I sit with my dinner in front of me, and I've barely taken 3 bites. The vinegar has just killed any hunger that I had (and I just worked out for an hour, so I SHOULD be hungry...)

Okay - I did the Braggs vinegar and mixed a touch of raw unfiltered honey in it with water.
I have actually NOT had an appetite for about three weeks and have been eating because I am supposed too. So I drank my vinegar, not bad not great, and I almost immediately fell asleep. I had that feeling like I couldn't keep my eyes open, but when I woke up, I had an appetite!!!
I have been irritated and swollen with the heat, but about an hour after I woke up, I noticed a significant reduction in the swelling.
I am not sure what all the vinegar is supposed to do, but I felt better after my nap and hey - no swollen feet!!!
Will keep you posted as I head into day 2

Thanks Kat!
Well,
I have had an appetite today also and I think I almost enjoyed the mixture!
The swelling in my feet is about 90% better than it has been in weeks and my husband says my energy feels better to him - he says I have been more active today! Dang!
I have taken it once today, though the Bragg website says to take it three times a day, I may have to work up to that.
How is everyone else doing/

I've been reading your thread with interest and have to say, OMG, reading about your trials with vinegar has my mouth watering, lol!
I have PMT at the moment and my vinegar cravings go to extremes - other people crave chocolate during PMT I crave vinegar.
I recently have been doing my best to give up my vinegar habit because I decided it just can't be good for me. But you have me wondering and have tempted me to decide to "allow" myself my PMT cravings! Mind you, I'm doing better, I used to have malt vinegar (yum) and I've swapped it for organic cider vinegar - and I no longer use thick, soft white bread to soak it up

Thanks for the tip about the pickles, Kat! I tried to eat one before lunch today, but then I couldn't eat lunch. (silly tiny stomach! Lol...)
I honestly think I could swig pickle juice before I could swig vinegar. And it's mostly vinegar, right? If I'm ever going to have a shot at trying this, it's going to have to be a liquid supplement!
I did pass the vinegar trick to a friend at work, and she had a cuke/tomato/vinegar dressing salad for lunch. I hope this works for everyone - she so desperately wants to lose some weight, and tries SO hard to no avail. Sound familiar? *sigh*
For those who can't stand the taste of apple cider vinegar, it is available in tablet form. I have read that the tablets should contain at least 600 mg, such as GNC's brand. Here is a link where you can buy it online:

Met 2000mg since 2001, started Glucophage XR 4/22/04, then switched to Met ER 6/04; also: multi, Vit. C, Vit. E, B12/folic acid combo, fish oil & borage oil combo, garlic capsules, cinnamon, Vitex, calcium with magnesium/zinc, biotin, CoQ10, selenium, iron
Other meds: Verapamil and Altace(for blood pressure)
Started laser hair removal 7/29/03, completed 3/04 (it works!)
UAE for fibroid 3/24/03 and 3/16/04
Instead of drinking the vinegar from a glass or whatever, what about using a some type of syringe for oral medicine and sticking it way far back in your mouth so it's past your taste buds and teeth?? Treat it as you would a little kid with medicine so they didn't have to taste it. Just a thought.

Wow! this thread has been some great read! I have a bottle of apple cider vinger behind my laundry basket for a long time now that my naturopath recommended me to take to rebalance the body a couple of months back and i took it for a while but i kept gagging and didn´t have any discipline but I´m ready to give it a go again! now that i have some more great information from this thread. He also told me to dilute it but I ended up taking it straight after a while... oh yeah he also told me to fill half a cup with the vinegar and the rest of the cup with water.. I nearly threw up! so instead I started following the instructions at the back of the bottle. kat I also lost my appetite so hey guys I´m starting now!
