The folks in the study took 2 TABLEspoons before lunch and dinner.

I've been adding an additional 2 TEAspoons before breakfast, too. Don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I 'think' it does

I just got back from a long weekend...and boy did I ever miss a lot on this thread?!! So, since most of you are already trying this, I think I'm going to wait and see a bit more what the results are. Is anyone taking the apple cider vinegar pills that Nobimbo mentioned? I'm curious as to how these work, since I don't think I could get 2 TBS down before each meal...y'all are amazing for doing that!! I think 2 pickles (like you suggested for Jen) might be possible, but I really only like sweet pickles, so the sugar makes that not a go for me!

Have any of you seen the scale move because of what you are trying? I think it's been about 4 days since many of you started?

I think taking the actual vinegar would defiknitely make me eat less because I'd lose my appetite!

Wow - you brave cysters!

This is only day 3 for me, so I don't have any scale reports.

One thing that is clearly a benefit is my blood sugar seems to be VERY regulated now. I haven't had a 'hunger pang' in two days, and I'm having a hard time finishing meals. Not because I'm 'stuffed', but because I'm just not hungry anymore.

Try putting the vinegar in the fridge, like Scooter suggested. That makes it easier to swig. (I can't remember if that suggestion was on this thread or on the other VINEGAR thread down in Alternative Remedies.)

That thread is here:

I have been drinking it as a drink two receipes the one on the Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother is a mixture of raw honey, distilled water and the vinegar. The one I do is apple juice, apple cider vinegar, and 100% grape juice. It is sad the the properties of the grape juice along with the apple juice and cider works wonders. It helps not only with insulin but also circulation, arthritis, blood pressure and so much more. You should check out the website look up Paul Bragg.
It is also touted to help with weight loss. Which is how I heard about. I am on another listserve. The lady was talking about how she loss alot of weight doing 800 mg of chromium ( which is also suppose to help with insulin regulation) and the ACV drink mix. I have started using both and I must say I am losing and feel so much better. Check it out.

You CAN have sweet pickles. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Mount Olive makes no sugar added bread and butter pickles as well as no sugar added sweet relish. Both are made with Splenda and are great (I've been using them for over a year now).

Thumbs up

I have been reading all the posts, but i haven't really checked in with my short term results....

I have noticed the same thing as many of you - I have very little appetite when I have the vinegar before meals. Also - like Kat mentioned - my blood sugar levels don't seem to be going up and down. They seem to be pretty even. My fasting in the mornings have been really good. Do we know why this happens?

I have only been doing this a few days, so nothing really on the weight front - it is also PMS time so I am kinda bloaty. I will have to wait for a bit before I know about any weight loss.

I just hope all this vinegar doesn't turn out to have a bad effect on the stomach. I don't feel anything odd such as indigestion, heart burn, or anything..... I just wonder.

Well - keep up the great vinegar experiement ladies!!! At the very least, it is quite intriguing.

I'm still going STRONG on the vinegar. It's getting alot easier to do! I was going to wait a week or two before checking the scales. But, I have no appetite after my "shots".
And I sure hope there's no side effect with tummy problems. I sure don't need that on top of everything else.

Hey folks, I did some googling on the negative effects of daily vinegar use and this is what I came up with... mostly all good and a lot of helpful suggestions and success stories etc. Lot of information here but well worth the read:

Everyone might not like this, but I do! Last night I tried putting my vinegar (the whole 2 tablespoons) in a bowl of pinto beans. I also added some onion, but that's just cause I like it.

I have always liked my beans this way, just never measured the vinegar before. It makes it much easier to swallow all that vinegar.

I might try picking up some liquid Stevia today...the person in that article said it make vinegar water 'tasty'. (somehow I doubt that, but it's worth a try...)
