Default vitamins with MET?

I just started taking MET (1500 XR), a multivitamin, calcium pill , and a fish oil tablet daily.

Mosts others here seem to take lots of other stuff with their Met...

...Do you take the stuff at the same time, is it okay to do so and not decrease the benefits or effectiveness of the multi-vitamin, calcium, fish oil, or Met if all 4 are taken with dinner?

(dinner happens to be the best time for me to take the pills for it is my largest and most consistent meal and you're supposed to take with food).

Yep for XR you are supposed to take MET XR during or straight after meal.

Vitamins to to take because you are on Met are B complex and Calcium as they are reduced when you take Met.

Magnesium is good to as it naturally balances blood sugar levels and is often sold with the calcium.

Omega 3 - most people on or not on met should take this one.

Zinc - is good for men and womens reproductive organs so for anyone TTC = zinc should be a must but not too much.

I never took my B-complex with my met. It seemed to defeat the purpose as it was the met affecting the calcium/b-vits.
I never bothered to find out if there was a scientific basis for this (which is kinda lazy considering I've done a nutrition degree and lived with a pharmacist) but it made me feel better! (mentally, not sure about physically! lol)

i space out my metformin. usually 1 with each meal. (i take 1500mg a day.) that's what has worked best for me. always take with food! that way you won't get sick. i also take a multivitamin and a fish oil supplement, usually in the morning with breakfast.

I had this same question

I am taking A LOT of stuff...but definately seeing improvement.

I am on:

Met 1000 (2x daily)
Cinnamon 1000 (2x daily)
Chromium 250 (2x daily)
Gymnema Sylvestre 250 (2x daily)
Flaxseed Oil (2x daily)
Centrum Multi
Benicar (blood pressure-temporary)
Aspirin 81mg (for now)

I've been able to drop glimeperide 4mg, insulin shots, and Byetta. The doc wanted to presribe cholesterol meds but I asked for 3 months to do it on my own.
