Vitamins and supplement help! Hello,
Oh boy I just typed this long post, and went to spell check it and it erased all of it! Here I go again.
Okay so I am new to PCOS, I was just diagnosed about a year ago. I got really depressed and tried to forget about it for a long time.
My GYN said I should just take BCP's and I will be fine. Well they make me get migraines, so I had to stop. Then she put me on Prometruim and said I need to take it every 3 months to get a period. Well it worked the first month, and has since stopped. I haven't had a period in about 4 months. I have tried 3 GYN's and a nutritionist ( what a wack job!) and none of them seemed to know the first thing about PCOS.
Besides lack of menses, I think the only other symptom that I have is I get this one stubborn hair on my chin every few weeks, and I just pluck it out. I hope it doesn't turn into more!
I am 20 y/o and overweight. This time last year I was about 180 and the year before about 130 and so on.
Basically I am just wondering if there are any supplements to take that help treat any aspect of pcos. I am not TTC, but I would like to get my body ready for it within the next year. I have this feeling that if I'm going to have any luck getting pregnant, it will be while I'm young.
I know that its not going to be easy, because when I was diagnosed, me and my boyfriend started having unprotected sex all the time, and have been since ( we have both been screened for STD's since we began dating).
My nutritionist gave me Iodoral(sp?) which I guess is some type of Iodine supplement, but I noticed nothing different. I am also interested in the progesterone cream. Where can you get it? Do you use it 7 days a week, 365?
Thanks to anyone who can help!
