Lightbulb ~*Welcome Vitex Gals*~

I just started taking Vitex today. I am trying to get AF again. I do not have AF unless its induced by meds. If AF shows up I plan on properly charting my cycles so I can actively TTC!! Any advice? I started taking one pill, and will add another in a week. I got the Vitex from GNC its 500 mg.

Peanut,
I have been taking vitex for about a month now. I was taking the gnc pills, but I just got the tincture form (it tasts nasty). I am hoping it will work for me I have noticed I have been less moody since taking it,but have not had any other results. I have been told it is a slow working herb, and can take 3-6 months to work. Like you I only get AF when induced by meds. It will be interesting to find out if it really works. I would like to keep in touch so we can watch each others progress.

I've been taking Vitex for 3 months, but only stopped bcp 7 weeks ago. Still no af at this point. Like you, I don't have af unless on bcp or taking provera. However, after a divorce, I was on the pill for 2 years again. So, I am remarried now and hope that the vitex will be my miracle pill! With the previous husband I went through about 6 rounds of clomid and my eggs didn't budge-so I'm SO hoping that this will work and I won't have to go through the shots-especially since our insurance doesn't cover a dime of it. Let's all keep in touch!

Peanut, and shell26, I will be glad to have some friends in this. Sometimes in my daily life it feels like I am the only one going through all this. I have not tried Clomid or any other fertility. The doctors had me on progetrone and bcp in the past. I was about to start clomid Last may when me and my dh moved and my insurance coverage changed. I haven't been back to the Doc since. My Husband actually suggested trying something herbal. He doesn't beleive in all that hormones being used. So hopefully this works! We will try other things if we have to, but would like to do this more natural. I am currently Taking 30dorps vitex in the am and 30drops vitex in the pm, also am taking vitamin B an a womens daily multi vitamin. Best of luck to you both, and lots of baby dust

I am not sure about this. IMO to get the full effects of the Vitex(Agnus Castus) you should take the Agnus Castus instead of the extract. I could be wrong.... I am new to this, so maybe another cyster could help. Sorry *hugS*

I do know that Vitex is known as chasteberry, if that helps at all.

How are all of the Vitex users doing? I'm still waiting on af. I can't remember when I started taking Vitex--I think it was 3 months ago though--I'd have to count the pills left in this bottle to figure it out! LOL! I've tried not to think about it too much so I'm no so obsessed, but am SO anxious to see if it's gonna work. I swore I was having PMS about three weeks ago--I was moody and had uterine pulling and tugging feelings. But, that lasted about 2 weeks and now nothing. I feel bloated, but that's almost always true! LOL! Have any of you tried Clomid before and had any luck? I posted this in a presvious post-but I tried 6 rounds of Clomid with my first marriage and it didn't work at all. I"m wondering if Vitext is more successful in ppl who responded well to other drugs. I'm not IR and don't have a weight issue.
