Default Vitex

Hi Friends,
Has anyone heard/tried Vitex? I was doing online research and found out that it helps regulate menstrual cycles and improves probability of ovulation. I am just not sure if it is recommended for women with PCOS. I am planning to try it out.

Btw, I've been diagnosed with PCOS in 2005. I had a blighted pregnancy May 2006. I've been trying to conceive since then but unsuccessful.

Hope to hear from you.

Hi, tincap. I tried vitex (via two products called FertilAid and FertiliTea--both available at fertilaid.com) after I stopped bcps and realized something was wrong (my cycles were lasting 40-60 days). It started regulating my cycles (it got them down to about 34 days) almost immediately. I'm not on it anymore because I started seeing an RE and am now on Metformin and Clomid. I have no idea about it being recommended or not for PCOS patients, but it seemed to work for me. The doctor who developed the products (there's also a version for men) is Amos Grunebaum, MD, Medical Director of the WebMD.com Fertility Center, so I felt pretty safe taking it. Good luck to you!

Thanks. I read about Fertilitea too. But what I got was Nature's Way Vitex.
