Default Vitex

I've started taking vitex Aug 1 and started taking chromiun a few weeks later. I don't have AF w/o taking something. It's going on 6 wks and still no AF w/vitex. I was just wondering how long should I give the vitex before I maybe start looking at adding another herb. It seems like I do feel better since I started taking the vitex. However, just no AF. any suggestions anyone?

Vitex is one of those herbs that can take a long time to take effect. Up to 6 months for some people. It is not a fast acting herb by any stretch.

Ava,

I know of alot of women who were taking vitex and nothing worked for them as far as AF for a long time. Ajani is right...Vitex is such a slow working herb that sometimes you have to give it a few months for it to totally take effect. I know of some cysters who have taken Dong Quai in conjunction with vitex and they got AF that way...The first month i took vitex, i got AF..granted, she stuck around for 16 days, but i hadnt had a period since Nov of 2002...Good luck!

Ava,

If you want to induce a period, you might look into Natural Progesterone Cream (see this board for all sorts of advice on that).

Generally, if you use 1/4 tsp twice daily for two weeks, then stop, you will get AF. You can also use Vitex and NPC together, though long term, if Vitex works for you, I would stick with that one.
