My dear Sister-in-law has 2 kids, has always been irregular but no dx of PCOS. She stopped bc pills 5 months ago and no AF since!! A new record for her. The docs want to put her on Hormones but she wanted a natural route--I don't know if Vitex would work for her, and if so how long she should take it to bring on AF, or if she'd be better with Progesterone cream, etc? Ideas??? If so, what dosages/length of time to try. Thank you!!

i started taking npc and vitex some 5 weeks ago. they say it takes about 6 months to show if it works for you.

if your sister wants to try the natural way like i do, this would be a good regimen to start:

1/2 tea spoon of npc twice a day (apply on face, neck, under breasts, arm pits wrist, rotate places) for 21 days, then stop for 7 days. continue. if af comes along it´s from cd 5 to 26. that for 6 months.

look at the sticky in this section of the forum on natural progesterone cream, it is very helpful. make sure your sister´s gyn supervises the treatment.

as for the vitex, i started with 40 mg twice a day, but will double dosage. have to do research on that yet.
