So, I am sticking with the aspirin. I was told a couple yrs ago to take that by my fertility specialist.

Hi everybody!!! I'm kind of new to the posting thing, I'm mostly a reader. I'm very interested in herbal remedies for PCOS. I've been on and off with Metformin for the last 2 years without it doing anything, but making me lose 10lbs. I still have AF 2 or 3 times a year. I've been TTC for nearly 3 years with no success. I recently stumble across a list of natural remedies to help with all the symptoms of PCOS. Here's what I found;

Chromium
B2,B3, B5 & B6
Zinc
Magnesium
CoQ10

along with taking Vitex (chastetree berry)

here's what I want to know: Before I go and spend a lot of money on these things which ones actually work or should I be taking all of them? Does anyone have any success stories they could share?

I'm ready to give up on having a baby because nothing seems to work and my doctor keeps giving me the run around about taking Clomid (I am so ready to switch docs!! grrr)

SOooooo yea...any help would be, well, helpful!

Thanks so much

stphn- don't ever give up. Vitex has many success stories. As for the other...I am taking Prenatal and B6.... it's all trial and error, but you want to keep the Vitex on your list.

Thanks Faith! It's so hard to not give up, every month is a disappointment. I don't know if it's PCOS symptoms or symptoms I make up in my own head, but I honestly feel pregnant every month. Also I will have PMS for like 3 months before I start AF. Blagh!! I hate PCOS, I just wish I could be normal.

stphn - i know what you mean. i haven't had AF in 2 yrs... and the other day i had a trace of pink... yet nothing. I have the signs of starting every mo, but she never arrives. It is possible for a PCOS woman to get PG... we just got to keep trying.

Faith - Eek. I take 1200mgs a day of the Gymnema. My bottle says to. I havent noticed any negative side effects though.

Letty - Congrats on your AF!

My NPC came today, and I had been reading that some women use it to encourage O? Does anyone have any experience with that?

Bella- No we haven't had him tested yet, that was our next step. Though I never really thought it could be with him. We got pregnant so easily with my first (ended in miscarriage) and then after I had my cyst removed I instantly became pregnant again. I just thought it was with me. My DH and I were just talking about him getting into the doctor. I hope he's not having issues that would not be good.

We're actually in the process of changing our eating habits and joining a gym in hopes that increased activity and weight loss will start ovulation all by itself. I'm also purchasing vitex and a multivitamin B complex which i heard is good for insulin resistance. I'm done with prescription meds I think. I'm going to drop 40lbs and go from there.

stphn - sounds like a plan

Ruby - question about gymnema.... have you noticed that sometimes the sweet things you used to crave, don't taste good anymore? just curious. the other day i tried to eat a little bit of dark chocolate, yuck. and i made a bowl of ice cream for DH, and stuck a T spoon of that in my mouth, yuck... wow.

Amy- Thanks for sharing! ive read some of those things for dong quai but so far i dont feel it has been a danger for me especially the way im taking it..im only taking 1000 now when before only 500 and many other brands say to take 3000! so i think its helping with AF for me.
I agree though about the asprin thing..if your doc recommended it then i would definately stick with that vs Dong Quai

I think eventually im going to come up with a new plan in the next month or 2 because i will be getting DCI if no BFP so then i think i will take DCI and Vitex...i think lol...always changes

Letty- YAY FOR AF!!! WOOHOO!!

StphnHrll - no giving up!!! that is not allowed here
The only success story i can personally share is getting AF with Vitex and Dong Quai no BFP yet although there are a few others on the boards that have gotten Vitex BFPs or BFPs using natural remedies. Its all about finding what works for you ..
The Bs are suppose to be very good for PCOS ever look into Inositol?
Chromium is suppose to be good also..the others im not sure.

Hi ladies!

Well, when AF shows her ugly head I will be starting BCP for 3 months and see if that helps straighten things out a bit. I will be still checking in on you girls.

Faith: I would;d try Dong Quai for some reason it always kicks start my AF.
