Claire - definitely... they are sore bb''s... the 'no touch' zone. .

Dana - glad FIL is doing better. i am on Day 6 today of NPC.

Letty - i am sooo happy for you, can't wait to here all the results....

Ruby - i am not sure what i ate the day that i experience that.... hmmm... i wonder if i did the same thing as you.

i am subbing for the next 10 days, while they find a permanent, so..... i hope i get it... because it has some sort of insurance.... couldn't sleep.... hope my nerves aren't on edge for the kiddies today...

i am on day 6 of NPC, nips are sore.... and bb's are tender. no herbs at the moment, just pre natal, B6, and tri chromium. i am anxious to see what happens this week with AF... hugs, talk to you later.

Hope everyone's doing well.

Letty - your RE and OB sound fantastic. I'm looking forward to hearing how thing go...very excited for you.

Amy - sounds very promising

AFM - started my next round of NPC yesterday which arrived in the post. It's the same brand as last time, but from a different supplier (I read online some bad feeback about the previous supplier saying the cream wasn't as good as the original cream - it definitely smells different and has a different texture!? strange, so will see how it differs) and it's in a pump jar, so no worries about measuring this time.

Also I've had really bad acne recently which has been painful and I applied a tiny bit NPC each of the spots. Don't know whether I'm imagining it or not, but within 10 mins they weren't as sore as before and they definitely look better today!

Hello everyone. I have a question/concern. I know that I am prone to/have/suffer from depression. Last year around this time, I started crying all the time and wanted to break up with DBF(for no reason). Got through that ok. This year, I am beginning to feel the same twinges. It started last week. I have been stressed because it's been busy at my job and some other things have happened that made me pretty much want to quit trying anything. So I stopped taking all of my meds for about a week. last year this time, I stopped taking spironolactone because of the side effects I was having (period every two weeks, extremely sore breasts). This time, I've stopped taking saw palmetto, which I'm taking for pretty much the same reason I was taking the spiro. I know stress can be a trigger, but I can't shake the feeling that maybe it's the meds.

Kena, have you noticed the depression signs start to lessen since stopping the herbs a week ago? Have you googled each herb name and depression?

Dana, nothing new temp wise, still tender nips and just this afternoon, some strong twinges near my ovaries, on both sides, but it only happens when I move, like when using stomach muscles down there. Weird. Maybe I am getting ready to O? Maybe its the Vitex doing something and I am growing follies??? Who knows!

No, what I've actually noticed is I've been crying and things more since I stopped. And that's what happened last time.

Kena - I'm not giving you professional advice or anything, but a lot of women go through this around this time of year. Google "seasonal affective disorder".

Good Luck! Also, if its worse off of the herbs then keep taking them! We are at our finest doing our best while feeling the worst. Never give up!

Have you thought about starting them up again temporarily to see if it helps? Or do you not want to become 'dependant' on them? Have you ever seen a dr about the depresson? Ever tried any prescribed depression meds? Or any herbal remedies specifically for depression? I wonder if the ladies in the depression section of this board could offer more advice, have you posted there, too?

kena - yeah this time of year can cause probs with depression as it's when the days start to shorten and it starts to get darker earlier and earlier. Have recently read a lot on how important it is to get out in the sun for at least 20mins a day to boast Vit D ready for the winter as it will be harder to get it natually from the sun and I think Vit D has an effect on mood.

About a year ago I went through a bit of depression and was given an anti-depressent by my doctor which I decided not to take and instead tried 5HTP which is similar to St John's Wort. I found it worked really well and it started to work quite quickly. I don't like the idea of taking a pharmacutical anti-depressants unless it's vital, especially if it might have something to do with the time of year, stopping meds/herbs, etc.

Also I think (though no expert) that when deciding to stop taking meds, herbal or prescribed, it's best to reduce the dosage slowly over a period of time, as suddenly stopping can cause withdrawal problems (I think that's what happened to me last year after suddenly stopping migraine medication).

Snow - thats weird! but i guess good for you if you have the real thing now. and NPC for acne interesting...

Missbehave- Hopefully soon. seem like we are always waiting for something right? lol

Kena- Some of the supplements could actually help with depression.
I dont suffer from depression too much but when i first started taking Vitex i use to call it my happy pill..because it made me feel better over all as far as moods are concerned. I know there are other supplements that are suppose to be good for depression and could also help with regulating your hormones.
Im not sure about the effect of saw palmetto.

seems like im a late nighter these days lol
nothing going on with me.

Question Newbie Greeting

Hi Everyone .... Marking my spot

I'm new to the forum and am looking to start alternative remedies for my lovely ovarian cysts/PCOS. I've been reading some research and various ND's suggestions, trying to figure out where to begin.

My OB/GYN put me on BC (of course) and I was fine with that at the time. There was too much stress in my life to deal with supplementations appropriately. However, I am now ready to attack the root of the problem and not the symptoms.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

My goal is for optimal overall health and not for conceiving. I just stopped my BC last week and am not taking anything at the moment. I need to make some decisions about this before the little cysts start multiplying.

Thanks! - tsarinaeleni

ps: do you guys have a list of acronyms that you all use? I noticed quite a few.

hello ladies, no time for personals, at the moment.... probably friday. NPC day 8, bb's still sore, bloated - Big Time, and lower back feels tender... not sure if it's work or AF... anyway. have you guys notice w/ PCOS you bloat more then a person without it? seriously, i literally bloat in my belly, like i am pregnant, then after AF it goes away. One time, years ago.... I went from a size 8 to a size 12, started and went back down...gained like 15 lbs, then it went away.. weird.

When you are not on BC are your cycles regular? Do you have any other PCOS symptoms other than cysts?
here is a link to the abbreviations guide Updated!!! Abbreviations For Newbies:)
