So i'm taking my 500mg of vitex daily...on the bottle it says "As a dietary supplement, take one capsule daily"...so is it safe to increase my dosage to 1000mg? how do i know when i should increase my dosage?

DCBailey - think that's what I'm going to do...wait a little while more and then if AF doesn't show try it again. The brand I'm using seems to have good feedback so maybe it'll take time as I haven't had AF for 7 months.
faith4miracle - the one I'm trying is called serenity which is USA manufactured, but I bought it online from the UK as I live in France. It says on the leaflet that came with it that it's Natural Progesterone content is 2.34% and the 60ml jar contains not less than 1260 mgs of Natural Prog. So I should be receiving 30 mg of Prog every day if I apply 1/4 tsp. Don't know how well that all adds up compared to other brands?
i read that vitex raises LH levels, but for those of us with pcos, aren't our LH levels high enough as is, so why do some of you guys use vitex?
Vitex is suppose to help regulate your hormones so if you have high LH levels it should help stabilize it..It may not work with everyone and I also dont think everyone with PCOS has high LH although it is common.
So far I dont have high LH levels.

My bottle is similiar it says to take 1200mg for a certain amount of time then reduce to 1..when i reduced to 1 i started to feel the same way i felt before i started. Every bottle is different..since you just started maybe you can see how 500mg does for you..if you arent noticing anything over time then increase or if you want I would even look for another brand (when you finish your bottle) that has you taking more so your dosage amounts arent so confusing.
From personal experience 1200mg works for me..ive never tried more so not sure if more would even be better but i know less wont be better for me.

Your welcome! cant hurt to try it again..but i think that if NPC is going to work for you..it should work on the 1st try with that brand anyway..
The 1st time i used npc with the brand i currently use it worked..then 2 months later i did all this research on which is a better brand to use with ingredients etc.. basically driving myself crazy lol and i came to the conclusion that this other brand was going to be better and it was even more money so i was sure it was going to work and it didnt. Then i went back to the original brand i used and it worked. So that just my experience with it..but everyone is different. Good luck definately keep us posted

I've just starting taking Vitex and I'm wondering if anyone can share their experiences with me. I'm taking 1000 mgs, and have been for about 3 days now. I'm really hopeful that it will work. AF arrived (on it's own!!!) about 2 weeks ago, and I also took Clomid. It appears that I might ovulate in the next few days, but I don't want to get my hopes up. I'm hopeful that the Vitex will work it's magic for me. Is it (or has it) worked for others? Can anyone suggest other natural treatments?

well a week is probably too soon but over time i noticed that i felt happier and more energy..but this was after 2-3 months. not to say that i didnt feel it sooner..i just noticed it then because i was not really looking for any other feelings..i was more concerned about AF showing up. lol

Thank you will do ... Yeah I'll give it another go and see what happens...will up the dose next time as only used the minimum amount last time.
There is a lot of information out there and it's very easy to get overwhelmed by it all, especially when there also seems to be a lot of rivally between brands so it's hard to know what to believe.

Vitex helped with regulating my cycles and just making me feel better overall. I know some cysters have had some Vitex BFPs..unfortunately none of the frequent posters here yet
I am also taking cinnamon which is suppose to help with IR and I also take Don Quai which is another hormone regulater and good for AF..Im drinking Red rasberry leaf tea and thats about it..just started the tea so we will see how things go. Good luck to you!

I too started vitex a week ago. no AF for me either..some people say it may take a month or two..so i guess we just gotta wait

for me AF came with in about 1 month but that is very soon..for most it can take up to about 6 months..but most sooner i think alot notice a difference in about 3 months. Hope this helps
