Hello...I have been doing lots of reading here about Vitex. I was dx'd with PCOS in January and I am currently taking 1700 mg/day
of Glucophage. I have had 2 AF's since January on my own. The last one was a good cycle...just like in high school!!! I was soooo happy!!! I wanted to go out and buy a Tshirt that said "I got my period today!" but I decided against it.
Anyway, my question is...is it safe to take Vitex while also taking Glucophage? Have read lots of postive things about the Vitex and
would like to reap it's rewards.
I think this is a great question. I would also like to know the answer. I am currently taking 1500mgs of gluc.. I would like to know if vitex would help me.. Like maybe help me get my sex drive back. But I need to know if taking vitex and gluc at the same time would be ok or dangerous..
Anybody know???

Well I went to the health food store today and looked up metformin in their book of drug.. and the only herb that was listed as something you should NOT take with it was some thing like grau grau I cant rember. It didnt say anything about vitex so I guess we could assume that vitex is ok to take with met. But it also said that we should take folic acid and B12... and avoid magnesium.. I hope that this helps.. but I think everybody should do their own research.

YES! It is safe to take.........my MD is into herbs etc......and he stated that it was fine to take

yes it's definitely safe - i have been on 1500 mgs of glucophage for about 4 years now, and went off the pill in december. after i got my period i went on vitex and got pregnant a month later. just don't take vitex during your period - but it really helped me ovulate - i hadn't gotten a period on my own in years without BCPs.
i really think vitex helped me so much.
