Default Vitex Question

Any of you ladies had this issue?

I started taking vitex after missing my AF... it was the first AF missed in seven months. I was thinking I was doing pretty well and then it never showed. Anyways, I started taking the vitex and 2 days in I started spotting.

Now I'm 5 days in and I had some heavy bleeding, but it seams as though, it's in spurts, like an hour or two after I take the pills I bleed, and then it tapers off. I've been following the instructions, and taking two in the morning, two in the afternoon and two in the evening.

So have any of you ladies experienced the spurts?

to me it sounds like you are taking too much. how many mg are your pills? my bottle tells me to take 2 or 3 a day for 8-12 weeks then 1 pill a day after. my pills are 400mg.

Bleeding between periods is a side effect of vitex. Try lowering your dose and if that doesn't help, stop until your period starts then restart at a lower dose. My brand of vitex (solary) advises 2-3 400mg capsules every 12 hours. I'm currently doing 1600mg daily plus Red Clover (1500mg) with no side effects, but everyone is different.

Definitely, I experienced this. I stopped taking the vitex once AF and then started them again once it stopped. I was taking 3 a day before, now I have started taking 2 a day.

Thanks guys! I ended up lowering the dosage. It stayed pretty steady for a about 10 days, which is understandable for having missed month or so in between.

I also, changed brands this month, the pills were a little more expensive, but it's a guaranteed amount of the vitex in each capsule, versus the other brand where it's not regulated. It is seeming to work much better this time around!

Definitely cool!
