Points: 3,905.86 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,905.86 | Vitex is working.... I have had irregular cycles since AF started. My cycles are usually over a 100 days long and annovulatory. I started vitex June 17/02 and had AF June 28. I had AF again on Aug 2. Only 35 days!! Unbelieveable. Of course we were on holidays and I didn't have anything with me because I wasn't expecting AF for at least two more months.LOL I don't know for sure if I ovulated because my temps skyrocketed with a fever for 5 days right in the middle of this last cycle. But to me it was wonderful that it was only 35 days inbetween AF's. I hope it continues. I take Nature's Way brand once a day with Materna muti vitamins.

Points: 501.01 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 501.01 | More vitex success I, too, have recently started taking vitex and found success - I started taking it during the end of my last (53-day, anovulatory) cycle, and this cycle has been amazing. My temps for the first 16 days were almost a straight line - a huge change from my normal zig-zag. And, on day 17, I had a very clear temp change to indicate O. When I have O'd in the past, it has been after day 21 or so... I typically have a short luteal phase, so we'll see what else may be in store for me.
I'm also taking one Nature's way tablet/day.
Congratulations on your success!

I ask because I just started taking it 2 weeks ago and I think the amount I am taking is way too low (120mg. a day) to bring about the desired result. Thanks~Candi

Candi--I take 400mg of vitex every morning. On the front of the bottle it says 495mg pills but when you read the back it says that there is 400mg of vitex in each capsual. I don't know what the other 95mg is probably millet and gelatin. Good luck to you.

Chaste tree berry tincture.
With it you can use fewer or more drops per day.
I usually take 6-8 drops per day. I had memory loss at 12 drops per day.(estrogen levels have a link to memory)
AF isn't regular on it alone for me, I also use progesterone pills, but I have a real AF--not just a spotty one.

I use GNC brand that has 500mg. and I take their recommended dose 2 a day. I am still on my 2ww and have really high hopes with this cycle. Good luck with the Vitex!!

Points: 501.01 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 501.01 | I take 1 400mg tab Vitex/day. Along with:
1 300 mg Jarrow Alpha Lipoic Acid Sustain
1 prenatal vit
2 NewBust (okay - don't laugh - it's a combo of herbs designed to balance a women's hormones with the side effect of bigger bbs. I started on it before I was dx, and it made a huge difference in my moods. But the real change was when I went low carb and started exercising regularly.
Hope this helps,
