Thumbs up Vitex works!

After 4 weeks of taking Vitex 400mg caps. 2 once a day I have had my first period! Ya! I usually have 3 AF a year... I am hoping that it continues to work for me. My last AF before Vitex was Aug.1,2002, so I think it was the Vitex My ? is do I keep taking the Vitex while I have AF? TIA.

Talking YES!!!!!

Keep taking the Vitex even through AF. Your body is trying to regulate itself now and if you stop taking the Vitex you will have to start all over again building the herb back in your body. Be patient though, because AF may not show up again for a few months but from what I've been told the cycles get shorter each time. Congrats!

(isn't strange that we are congratulating each other on something that should be occuring naturally?)

Suz, congratulations It is nice to see that your body is working.
I personally do not take Vitex when AF, because I have read that it is a time for body to purify itself.

Congrats, Suz! I was similarly thrilled when vitex worked for me. I stopped taking the herbs during my period for detox purposes. It seems to have not affected my cycle, af came again this month (43 day cycle).

Congratulations on getting AF

I started taking vitex in february /02, prior to that my periods were every 2 months or so. After vitex I ws regular at 31 days.

Everything i read on vitex suggested to stop taking it during AF to purify your body.

By the way I'm due with my first child February /03.

Good luck and again congratulations.

Default Vitex and post ovulatory temps

Do you notice that vitex seems to increase your post ovulatory temps?

I am having unusually high temps this time around - DH and I are wondering about PG - but a lot of cysters told me that Vitex would increase my BBT's?

Thanks for the input.

Christi

Cool

Thanks for posting about your success! I just started taking Vitex a few weeks ago. I take 2 - 200mg caps in the morning. It's good to hear about it working for other people!! Gives me hope

Default Vitex

I totally agree about Vitex. Been taking it for about 3 months (ish) and have O'd day 16 or 17 which is early for me. Am also having acupuncture, which I can't recommend too highly!

I am also wondering about the post-O temps as mine seem a bit higher than before. Perhaps Vitex increases your progesterone levels.

Am ttc, so I'll let you know if I conceive a Vitex Baby anytime soon...

I checked my BBT charts, and vau the temps after o are higher. I didn`t noticed before that Vitex helps in that area also
Lovedux, I can not recomend any brand to you because I live in the other side of the world, and here we have totaly different brands.
