 Wacky wacky periods
Ive always had fairly regular periods. They have always been heavy though and lasted normal longer then 4-5 day when I was younger. More like 6-7. After I had Katie I was bleeding heavy enough my ob said he want to put me on the birth control shot to control the bleeding and at 20 and with a newborn I just assumed he knew best and did it.
I was on depo for a lil over 2 yrs with not much problem other then occasional nausea and I certainly didn’t mind not having to deal with periods. This was all before I had even heard of pcos and I should mention I still have never been formally diagnosed with it. I haven’t had health insurance since shortly after DD was born and had to pay for the Depo out of pocket till I stopped a lil over 3 years ago now. DH and I decided that while we wouldn’t be actively ttc we would not be actively trying not to either.
Now on to the problem at hand, I last had a normal period on Sept 20th that lasted around 5 days as they normal have since going off Depo. I should mention to that they are still what I consider a heavy flow with clotting. In October the 20th came and went and I began to wonder if I could be pregnant. After about 5 days so the 25th I thought Id give myself til the first to take a test but I started the next day. It was considerably lighter but so much I thought much of it and it was gone before Halloween.
Novemeber came around and I wasn’t sure if I should expect my period around the 20tha as normal or if I needed to adjust fro the last month. When the 20th came and gone I wasn’t to concerned but as the first approached I was convinced I was pregnant. I took a test and it came back neg. but even the first line was faint so I wasn’t sure I peeded enough (tmi I know sorry) On the 3rd I took another doing the cup method and this time I know I over compensated and while the lines showed a negative the error window also had a faint line. I planned to retest but didn’t get to the store before I started on the 7th. Again normal 5 days and again a lil lighter then normal.
Since I started on Dec 7th I did not expect another period that month and did not have one. This month (January) I started on the 9th and quite frankly it was barely there. I think I went through a whole 4 pads in 3 days before it was gone.
I have no idea whats up with me!!! I’m hot all the time and grumpier the usual and go through fits of not being able to fall asleep and then having a horrid time waking up. My skin is wagina war on me (dryness not like acne) My husband teased menopause but I’m 25 for goodness sake. I realize that 25 yr olds can go through menopause but I don’t know what to think. |
