Default Walmart and Organic

Hmm, seems like an oxymoron but I went to a Super-Walmart (again, not in my town but one town over) to check it out since I plan to try and eat as O as possible. And was pleasantly surprised. I found organic jams, veggies, tomato sauce, apples, etc . . . I noticed the Prego Organic sauce was 2.17 while a regular one was 1.84 also the organic avacodos were 2.84 for a bundle--3 vs the regular 4 in a pack but the price was nearly the same. Also w/ the organic green onions 1.23 vs 1.18 for regular green onions--the package it was in felt slightly lighter which might be how they can keep the prices so close to the original items--which is an interesting strategy. It definitely worked for me though I would've bought organic anyway, but I left feeling like I didn't spend much more than I would've had I bought these items non-organic.

Okay, I'm hoping they start carrying organic berries (so far, I didn't see any), organic cheese (nope), organic chicken.

Unfortunately, most organic food costs more than regular food. I still buy organic when I can though.

Organic does cost more. We just got a box of fresh yummy organic produce delivered to us from Full Circle Farm. I am so excited, going to try my blood orange here soon.

Although organic costs more, I like supporting those who put these products out in hopes that more companies will take note of the fact that customers aren't thrilled with eating all these horrible additives they put in food or use to grow our food and will jump on the bandwagon. The more the companies are competing with each other in the organic market, the cheaper the organic food will get.

Sometimes it pays to spend a little more up front in hopes of something better!
