Question Want to go natural.....don't know where to start

I need some direction. First let me explain my experience with presciption drugs. I have been diagnosed wiht PCOS for 3 years. My doctor first prescribed gluco. and I could not take the side effects. I went to another doctor who is wonderful and he prescribed Avandia. I once again had side effects. I was so tired and so drained I could barely walk without becoming extremely fatigue, I work in a clinical setting so I took my blood pressure and it was 140/85. I usually run 110/70. The next day I slept for 14 hours and when I woke up I was still tired ( I mean exhausted). I did not take the avandia for two days, and I started feeling better. I finally called my doctor, who told me not to take the Avandia anymore. I research the side effects and found that they say not to take them if you experience extreme tiredness or fatigue. So now I am so weary of taking anything synthetic. But I so want to get my PCOS under control. I am getting married October 17, and would like to be pg soon after. I am 34 and my biologic clock is ticking, and besides my endo told me that it is harder for PCOS women to get pg the older they get. So can someone, anyone help me get on the right track of tx'g my PCOS naturally. Thank you for any and all info.

    Exclamation Naturopath

I have been diagnosed for about 5 years, but I didn't start researching until this past 6 months. I hadn't even heard of the blood sugar connection or diabetes risk. I found myself frustrated with the lack of information provided by my doctor, and I decided to try a naturopath. The only downside to this so far has been the cost. But I have been feeling a lot better since I started my treatment. There are so many remedies out there for people with 'female problems' but I would not suggest just taking them without supervision of a naturopath. Firstly, it has kept me on track knowing that i will be going back to her soon. Secondly, she would be able to tell you what results to expect.

I am taking a protein shake twice a day and following a diabetic diet similar to the PCOS diet. I am also taking many herbs to supplement my diet. I am also on the Candida diet, which is an intense cleanse. My energy level has increased and I just feel more flowing. I am still on a BCP and another pill to decrease hair production, but those combinations are fine and are being closely monitored by my GP and Naturopath. I am confidant this is working for me and I hope this might be an option for you too! Good Luck!
