Talking want to introduce myself....

Hi all! I was a pretty active member of this board last year when I was still trying to conceive.

After the IF treatments came to an end (spurred on by an ectopic pregnancy last February 02) my husband and I began a domestic newborn adoption.

We began paperwork in July 02 and were finished with our homestudy and approved on October 30, 02. Since that time only one couple has viewed our profile and we are still waiting to be matched. Apparently there is a shortage of prosepective birthmoms in our area at this time and my frustration level is at an all time high.

Since July I have stopped my Metforming (but am beginning it again tonight) and have lost 50 lbs on a low carb diet. I have just started working out about 4-5 times a week as of March 15th.

Hope that I can make some new friends here.

Hello Babybean,

I'm glad to see you here. The adoption board is an emotional one-- and depending on your circumstances at the time-- it's sometimes hard to come here.

I had to take about a year off myself. I'm glad your back and wish you a speedy match.

Congrats on your weight loss!

Dawn

Default Welcome Back

Good job on weight loss - I also lost about 35 pounds on low carb diet over the past 5 months! Now I can't loose weight though cause I'm PG (still early only 6 weeks).

We are adopting internationally - just got our approval from the State. I was hoping things would go quickly, now wondering what to do.

Good luck in your plans. I see a bunch of websites where it looks like you can add your profile for prospective birthmom's - have you thought about trying that - you would be able to broaden your search I would think.

Take care,
