I recently called my gyn to see if I could increase my Met dosage to 1500 (currently at 1000). He doesn't feel comfortable giving me that much ( ). He's sending me to an Internist. What the heck is an internist? :o I've been doing a lot of searching and it seems they just deal with your organs. PCOS just seems more than something an internist would handle. Now I'm scared that the internist won't understand anything at all about PCOS!!! ARGH I hate doctors...

I've been printing out pages and pages of information... I want to be ready. Anyone have any good sites (besides this one) that has good info????

An internist is your general physcian. You want to ask for a referal to an Endocronologist or an edocronologist-gynicologist. If you do a search on this site under the newbie section they have excellent articles on all the topics you mentioned.

There is also articles on dosage on the "FAQ about MEtformin" thread at the top of the metformin page. It talks about the standard medical dose being 1500 mg, so it might be healpful to print that up for your appt.
