Warning chicken hearts in here..... Another granny recipe and we love it too.
Warrior Stew - serves 2
1 pkg onion bouillon mix (lipton onion soup mix)
2 cups water
2 tsp lemon juice (vinegar will work)
1 lb chicken hearts
1 pkg chicken broth or 1 chicken bouillon cube
1/2 tsp salt (maybe, we omit because the chick broth is salty enough)
1/4 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp sage
1 cup diced celery
1/2 to 1 cup mushrooms
Combine onion mix, 1 cup water, lemon juice and chicken hearts in a saucepan. Cook over moderate heat 15 minutes, drain. Add chicken broth, remaining 1 cup water, salt, pepper, and sage with the hearts. Cook over moderate heat until water just comes to a boil, add celery and stir. Reduce heat simmer 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook 2-3 minutes longer or until celery is tender but still crisp. Good for lunch or light super.
