Shelbersmama - Not to pressure you either, just wanting to share. The risk of IC lessens dramatically at 26 weeks when your pelvis starts to take on more of the weight of the bub. If you could wait one more week to go back, you would be at 26 weeks and might be better off. MY IC was diagnosed at 26 weeks. I was completly effaced, membranes bulging, was dialating and contracting. They didn't want to do a e-cerclage because of the bulging membranes. In retrospect I wish I would have pushed more for it. Anyway I was on hospital bedrest with meds for two weeks. My last day there they did a quick exam and although I was closed back up I was still totally effaced and stayed that way for eight more weeks (at which point I was home on strict bedrest). So long story short, IC can cause problems even after the magic 26 week date.
Either way, plz keep us up to date, and you may want to post in the IC miracles thread to.

Same for you shelbers mama!

I'm not sure about the risk perameters after a critical point. I've seen nothing in relation to that in the research I have done. I know that my doctors were not willing to risk anything until I hit 36 weeks. That day they took out the cerclage and let me walk. Had I still been home on bedrest they would have done the same thing. They would have expected me to give birth sometime later that evening. I had planned on getting my pictures taken and shopping for baby clothes, since I hadn't done that yet. That's not how things worked out, though!

I'm going to try to get the website going again on Matt's payday. I was trying to wait it out until they released the name I had before. To reinstate the same name I had before they want more than $100. To get a new name will only be $15. I guess it's better to have a new name than to wait longer. I really want my questionaire back up. I'd love you all to be able to fill it out. Every day I learn more. I think someday these questionaires will help someone (not me) complete a full study and be able to better identify risk parameters for IC that may result in better care and less loss of life.

Well so far so good. I havn't had any problmes.. no contractions/spotting or anything scary I've been told to look for. I've been off my feet as much as possible, and only working a couple days a week ( putting my feet up behind my desk as often as possible )

I have my next apoint w/ OB next wednesday (7/25), so we'll see how everything looks then. Hopefully there will be no change. But so far I feel really good, and little Liam is just as active as all get out!!!

I know all of you feel I should be on bedrest, and I more or less am. I get up to pee, and walk around a tad, then Im laying back down. My husband has taken over most of the household chores ( bless him ) and on the days that he isn't home to make dinner we've bought things I can put together quickly so that Im not on my feet any longer then I absolutely have to be.

Glad to know you are still doing okay. You are so close to hitting that 26 week mark which is imp for your cervix and for your baby developmentally. Keep us posted.

Laura - Let us know if you get the website back up! I don't think the name matters much!

I had my dr. apointment today and everything went well. Im still not having any problems w/ the cerclage. No contractions/pressure/spotting/leaking... Im still staying off my feet as much as possible, which to be honest is getting hard, especially since I feel absolutely normal. But Im being good, honest

Shelbers - I am glad things are going okay still. Yay for making it to 26 weeks. Now we gotta getcha to 28!

I know there were days when I felt find and normal. But honestly everytime I pushed it I would end up feeling like crap and/or have contractions so be careful. I am not sure if I would try swimming yet, I think I would want to give it another week or two to make sure that your pelvis is supporting baby more. But you know your body.

I hope that sometime you will join the thread below. These are a great group of gals who have and are dealing with IC and cerclages. They talk pretty regularly. Keep us posted hon! Glad your still hanging in there...

So glad you're doing well, but please don't push it. I being in water is great, but really swimming doesn't sound like a good idea to me. All this makes me quite nervous. It's still awfully early. I know I'm the killjoy around here, but I can't help myself, lol! I wasn't allowed to do anything until 36 weeks. There are ladies here who had failed cerclages after it appeared successful who did complete bedrest. My water didn't break until 31 weeks. Just be careful and know I'm a worry wort because I care.

My OB approved for my DH to put a kiddie pool on the front porch for me to spend some time in when I was on bedrest. I was looking forward to it. He went and bought the pool and intended to fill it up the next day, but that's the day my water broke, lol. We ended up using the pool for Jamie's 1st Birthday party.

I wish swimming was part of my bedrest plan..... lol ...... I am headed into 29 weeks, and did 4 in the hospital...... I havent had any cervical change in 6 weeks - but no swimming for me yet. lol ......

Drs. want me to get to 32 weeks before i do anything ....... then I will have some freedom. I go to the drs once a week, and every other week i get a manicure/ pedicure - lol. Its my treat! Sometimes I go to my aunts house and lay on her couch as well - every week or so..... change things up a bit

lol

I will be estatic if i make it in a pool once this summer. I havent been in a mall, wal-mart, or grocery store in almost 3 months. I did have one trip to register at babies r us when I hit 28 weeks ...... but I registered via wheelchair. lol That was my treat for baking Zoey to 28 weeks. When Zoey is born ( hopefully after 36 weeks) we can explore the world together - lol.

Sorry about the rant - lol ..... bedrest must be getting to me

Cripes Melissa... rant away!! I'd be going out of my ever-loving mind if I were you!! Im not the type of person that can just stop moving anyway. I joke ( but its really not a joke ) that if they do put me on bedrest my hubby is going to have to duct tape me to the couch! And my DD dosn't make it any easier. She's six so she can help a LOT but there is only so much she can do on her own, and of course she is home for summer so being home w/ Mommy gets awfully boring! With me not working much I cant afford daycare and I can only pawn her off on family so much. But so far everything is working out, thank GOODNESS!

Eeps, I didn't mean to turn this into a rant as well LOL Im so board right now, and no one wants to do anything with me. I just hit up the video store, but nothing good is out or I've already seen it.

And everything my hubby wants to do involves lots of walking! Bla!! Its going to be so nice when our kiddo's are full term and healthy and OUTSIDE of our bellies! hee hee!

LOL Melissa I remember looking forward to every Friday when I had to go to the peri's. My parents had a wheelchair and they would load it in the trunk. We'd grab lunch on the way to the dr.s office. After my appt if I was feeling up to it we would go shopping and they would push me around in the wheelchair. It got harder the closer I got to the end. I tired more easily...of course I was pushing it at home too cause I was board out of my mind. Seemed like every friday and Sat night I would have contractions, stay in bed and behave myself until like Wed or so, then start to push it again...

Laura - you aren't the only worrywart/killjoy. I'm the same way!
