My Mood: Points: 4,102.72 Bank: 0.19 Total Points: 4,102.92 | The fear if this happening to me is setting in hard, perhaps because of the things some other January moms are experiencing. I am hoping someone here could please tell me is cervical length check the norm with ultrasounds or is this something my Doctor must specifically request? I am due for another u/s next week and wondering do I need to call my doc and beg her to add a check to the u/s.
Thanks for reading...
Worried mommy to twins in utero.
Ps. This is my first pregnancy to have ever made it this far I have no idea how prone or not I am to having cervical issues. All previous miscarriages were early to mid first trimester.

I'd ask your doc to check cervical length via transvaginal U/S every other week at LEAST. With twins, the IC danger zone extends farther - to about 28 weeks.

Viv and Laura-I will definatly keep checking in. You 2 are the best at this, and I am so grateful for all of your research into this. I'll also be checking out that other website!
Also note. My Dr. actually talked to one of the 3 Dr's that found the reserch that linked checking for cervical length/funnelling with IC and pre-term labor. Told him my story, and he was the one who recommended me getting my cerclage. Also note. He told my Dr. that although not proven yet, there are links with the drug Repronex also having an effect with IC. Which, was what drug I had taken to get pregnant. And yes, my Dr. was in awe being able to talk directly to him.

I would have never dreamed of connecting that, though I do have one question in our questionnaire about fertility treatments. I didn't ask what drug. When you talk to your doc again could you ask him where I could find some research articles about that? |

When the main Dr's have there get togethers, or conventions, they have just discussed it during those. I thought it was all pretty interesting. Also, something to the effect that repronex (because if it's super stimulator) releases some kind of either andorphins or something to that nature, it is just starting to get linked to IC. If I remember, I'll try to ask my reg. Dr. next week. If not then, maybe when I go back to Columbus and go to that office. |

My Mood: Points: 5,739.02 Bank: 3.03 Total Points: 5,742.05 | I wonder if it's the whole family of drugs or just repronex. I'm getting ready to start an injectables cycle with pergonal, which is the same as repronex. I guess it doesn't matter now since I will have a preventative. But then I wasn't on any fertility drugs when I got pregnant with the twins I lost. The Repronex connection may be a coincidence and the real connection is the hormone abnormalities. Just playing with my own thoughts here, sorry, |

My Mood: Points: 5,739.02 Bank: 3.03 Total Points: 5,742.05 | It's the fall connection that keeps boggling my brain. My DH thinks it's because more people BD during the winter, so there are more pregnancies, thus more IC. |

My Mood: Points: 1,918.56 Bank: 20,081.02 Total Points: 21,999.58 | Hi,
I'm a member of the Jan. 2007 mom's board. There have been several losses to this board recently because of IC. So, now at 20 weeks I have a question. This is my 2nd pg. My first was led to the very successful arrival of my beautiful ds. Since I did not have problems with IC with him, is there any reason to suspect I will have problems with IC this time or on other future pgs?
Thanks, in advance.
God Bless,
Jessica

Yes, ds was born one day after his due date. This pg is "normal" (no drugs or other stuff to get pg) so I only have one u/s and it is on Monday. I'll be 21 weeks.
