The only water I can find in glass bottles is Perrier. It's carbonated so that's going to take some getting used to. It comes flavored with lemon or lime or you can get it plain.
I tried some last night for the first time and it was ... different.
Are there any other brands out there in glass bottles? I know there used to be something called Clearly Canadian and it was in glass but either they don't make it anymore or they changed to plastic.

Just curious. Why do you want water in glass bottles? Is there a benefit to drinking from glass bottles? Can you buy something else in a glass bottle and when the bottle is empty, fill it with water from the tap, or does that defeat the purpose?
The do make Perrier and Evian water unflavored, but it is carbonated. I have to stay away from carbonation because Met makes me burpy enough as it is.
plastics are bad for you!
Especailly when you eat/drink from them.
I would love to find something besides the above mentioned ones too! I just can't take the tast of the Perrier's.

I had heard this, but when I checked snopes.com, it disagrees. Whan I Google "are plastics bad for you" the only info that comes up is that plastics can release chemicals when heated (like in a microwave). I also found that there was the false, though somewhat widespread belief that plastics contain dioxins, a known carcinogen, but that it isn't true. Also, I learned that when plastic bottle are frozen or at least cold, it stops the seepage of any chemicals that might be in them. Apparently the chemicals move better in warm temps.
So, from what I can tell, plastics are only possibly bad for you if you heat stuff up in it, not using it to hold cold or room temperature stuff, or if you don't recycle them and let them hog up space in the landfills or worse yet burn them.
Can anyone give me a link to studies showing they are risky to use, even when not heated? TIA

Debbie - There's another thread about this right now... can't find the link right now, but it's about baby bottles and other plastics. That having been said, until I see a definitive study from a reliable source I'm going to view the findings with skepticism.
Maggie - I remember Clearly Canadian... I used to drink it like crazy and then found out it has a lot more sugar than soda does. The Whole Foods near me has a kind of water in glass bottles, but I don't know what it's called. Otherwise I'd recommend just getting a good water filter and "making" your own bottled water.
It just mentioned plastics in my PCOS Diet Book. Something about how we have a chemical imbalance already and the chemicals in the plastics make it worse.
I have a fridge half full of carbonated water and it's just so gross I'm not drinking any of it.

The other thread I mentioned says the reason that plastics make PCOS worse is b/c the plastic leeches a substance that acts like an artificial estrogen. Again, don't know if it's true, but just FYI.
The prob with plastics usually is that they contain PVC... which is a HUGE problem... and usually only when heated up... problem is that often CRATES of Water are left out in the sun and that does the trick... there was a big article on this years and years ago when we had soldiers I think in Kosovo around 1989ish... and crates of water that had been brought over were left out in 102 degree sun... soldiers in that area were reporting serious illness... but I can't remeber how they exactly tied it to water... that's when I first heard about plastics... you'll find this isa really big deal in the baby world... lots of companies now making bottles and chew toys PVC free... as babies suck on these all the time... Also... can't you sometimes just smell the plastic... that's just yucky!
I really like pelligrino... add some fresh lemon juice... and I love to add fresh grapfriut juice.... almost like a fresca... but way better for you!
