Is there anything I can do to lessen the pain of getting my legs waxed? I try not to do it around my period, but still it's some of the worse pain I've ever gone through...I can hardly walk after wards my legs are shaking so badly. I have had a few different waxers tell me I have the hariest legs they have ever seen...it takes at least two hours to get them done.

Maybe using the hair-reducing lotions that are out there? Hopefully that would make the hair come back finer and sparser.

There is an over the counter cream called Ella-max I get from my pharmacy without a Rx. It is very expensive...$50 for the largest tube they make, but it still isn't very big.

You rub it in one hour before your waxing or electrolysis and cover it with Plastic Saran Wrap....if air touches it, it doesn't work as well.

Maybe you could use it only on the most painful areas, since it is so expensive. Don't know if it is available in Canada.

Good luck!

Sarain,
I also have very hairy legs.
The longer your hair is the more it will hurt.
Also, if you can find someone in your areas who does sugaring (as opposed to waxing) it doesn't hurt as much, and I find it goes a lot faster.

Hope that helps.

Just curious, why is sugaring less painful than waxing?
