I know this has probably already been discussed in other threads, but I'm getting my bikini line waxed for the first time in a couple of weeks.

I found some tips on www.mysugarbox.com, and a hilarious story here. I know they say not to wax the week before your period, but if you don't know when it's going to be, does it matter?

Should I take a couple ibuprofen before I go? I've had to take care of ingrowns there before and I didn't think plucking them was too bad, although they were more painful than my eyebrows.

Any ideas on aftercare? Any particular creams/lotions that helped healing? Any exfoliator that worked well?

I was going to take a shower before the appointment so that I'm "clean", and that it maybe softens the hairs.
