Default Waxing Facial Hair

Do any of you wax your facial hair (i'm talking about full beard)? If so, what works best and how long does the hair usually take to come back? Do you do it yourself or go to a salon?

I wax, but I dont have a full beard. I have upper lip hair fuzzyness on my chin and under my chin...but I've always had really thick and long sideburns..

I think particially its because of my heritage, but made worse by PCOS. I wax myself, using Nair microwave wax and it takes me about 30 minutes. It does hurt, especially on my sideburns..but not unbearable.

I do it once a month. Hope this helps..

I have quite a lot of chin hair and a bit around corner of mouth and a few on moustache area but not alot.

I go to a salon quick and easy but costs $1100 each time which is a bit annoying. Last time i nearly burst into tears as I was having a bad day and sick of it as it grows so fast and thought why me - i will have to do this forever...

I couldnt' be bothered doing it myself, too sticky, messy and not sure if I would be good at it hahaa

I just waxed for the 1st time about ten minutes ago. Just my upper lip. I now know why people go to a salon to do it, as after the first one I wasn't sure I wanted to continue. It really wasn't too bad, but it does hurt. I hope the redness goes away by tomorrow. My real fear is how frequently I will have to do this, but the hair was getting longer and darker, and bleaching just didn't last long enough and all the hair was still there. So far, I'm hopeful that this will be a solution for me. Good luck!!

hey,
facial hair is no woman's friend. I find that THE MOST effective wax i have every used in this area is the salon wax. it comes in a tub and when it is cold it is just solid, rather than the icky sticky other wax. u dont need strips or anything like that as u just apply it wait maybe 30 seconds and it dries in a strip that u then rip off. i use this for my side burns. the other waxes always used to get stuck and were ineffective.
it sucks and takes its toll on ur self esteeme, but in the grand scheme of things its a managable thing. some of the most gorgeous people i know do the whole facial hair removal thing. it doesnt mean ur not beautiful

I use Surgi-wax Brazilian. No strips involved, just wait for it to dry a bit and pull it off. It sounds a lot like what pp mentioned, not sticky and very solid in the tub until nuked. I get mine at wal-mart, and after several months, some of my spots have not grown back.

Well waxing is always always always a good option..... i think its one of the best ways to remove hair. It takes a while to come back ( well on the other hand not necessarily----it actually depends on your growth, how fast is your growth but usually for us women with PCOS our hair comes back pretty fast)......its a really good way to remove your facial hair, but for a small amount of people they break out after getting their face waxed, so thats something you should think about???......do you already break out? or have scars on your face? but in my experience one thing is that, i got myself waxed from one salon and here i was getting my face waxed for the 1st time in my life, had clear scarless skin and started to get my face waxed, broke out and have a ton of scars now.........which im working on to get treated......and then after a few months a tried another salon and got my face waxed from there wanted to give waxing another shot....... and had no issues of breaking out. I think the 1st salon just didnt have enough hygiene at their place...........or something was wrong with their wax........or either it just didnt suit me............but the 2nd place is good.

hey,
the wax i use is by Nair and its called Salon Divine. I just use the one for body but they have a special formula for bikini and face too. I'm currently in Australia, so i get mine from places like priceline or kmart of the chemist, and if youre in America im sure you would be able to find it in one of your chemists or walmart or something. its quite cheap too, only about 20 bucks for a tub.
in relation to the above comment about breaking out after waxing facial hair, i experinced the same thing when i first tried using the normal sticky wax and strips, but i havent had that problem with the salon wax. exfoliation helps a lot too.
hope this info helps u.

Turmoil- I think that is what happened to me. I seem to have broken out on my upper lip where I waxed on Friday night. It's not too terrible, but definitely a few little bumps and one which was noticeably a whitehead. ick. I hope this doesn't get worse.

Its sounding like most of the women w/a full beard shave, and women w/less than that wax. I wax and pluck as I can't walk around knowing that just being a couple of hours late to shave will show the world my facial hair. Pulling it out by the roots gives you at least a couple of days, even for most PCOS'ers.

I wax too. I am using salon type of wax. You have to heat it up and use the strips. I like it more then the others. I do it myself. It last for about a month. I have upper lip hair and sideburns. But after 10 years of waxing the hair grow very thin and in some areas there is no hair at all.

Wow, This Is Very Embarrasing For Me. I Have To Shave Everyday Cause It Grow Back Fast. I Am Going To Try Waxing. Let Me Ask A Quesion. When You Wax Does It Get The Smallest Of Hairs Or Just The Really Long Ones. Since I Shave I Don't Let It Grow Back So Long.
Do I Have To Let It Grow Out?

I highly recomend Surgi Wax Brazilian for the super short hairs. I switched to that a while back, and love it for getting to the littlest ones. Plus, you don't have to use cloth with it, just rip the strip off.
I have found that different waxes work better for different hair types. I use surgi brazilian for short coarse growth, sugar/honey/cold wax for finer and longer growth, and the regular surgi wax for the medium coarse hairs. It's sad that I have this down to an exact science. Being hairy sucks!

Angry

It's so annoying.. I get it done every friday... my eyebrows (naturally) but also my chin and upper lip. It grows bk to an obvious stage by the time 7days is up, actually mostly before 7days! It is so expensive.... Argh!!! Really does SUCK...

What is normal for others is something I have to pay money to get??? ARGHHH

What also annoys me is... Me and my partner are planning on going on holiday for 2 weeks!! I can't exactly drag my beautician along with me for the second week!! It really does interfear with my life!!! So annoying!! Makes me feel very un feminine!!
