I waxed my face once... never again! I got a horrible rash from it. I looked HIDEOUS for a good week. Had to pile on make-up at work. Thankfully nobody asked me what was going on with my face!

Then I started laser... and had to start shaving... which I now prefer.

The one thing the box doesn't tell you, is that you should exfoliate before waxing, perferrable the day before. That will remove the shedding skin on your face in your case. I always get pink after waxing, my estechian (sp) puts on some sort of cream to reduce the redness, but you could apply a cold compress and that could help.

I wax my arms weekly. I look like popeye for a day or so afterward due to the swelling and redness. I hate this..............

I think the key is exfoliation. You want to do it a day or two before you wax, and then after you wax you want to start doing it as well (not immediately, wait a day or two for the skin to calm).

I use one of those woven facial buffs that is made to exfoliate. I start using the day after waxing and continue to use it everyday. It makes a HUGE difference when it comes to ingrown hairs and bumps after waxing or shaving. This works great on the face or the bikini line. I just use my regular facial cleanser with it (Cetaphil).
