Angry Waxing Sucks!

Grrr...I have those annoying little black hairs that pop up sporadically on my chin, cheeks, lip and neck! I also have a semi-thick dark "undercoat" lol. I wax and that's great for a day but I soon break out! And it's those huge ones too! I always make sure to use astringent after I wax and aloe but still breakout. Any tips? Thanks ladies!

Do you use a store brand wax? I'm guessing that your allergic to the wax so no matter what you do after or before the wax is still going to effect you. Have you ever tired going somewhere for waxing and tell them your problem they usually have wax for people who are sensitive or allergic to certain waxes.

Oh God, I hear ya girl! I waxed my legs for about three years until I started getting these horrible ugly ingrown hairs. They're like blackheads and even after getting rid of them, I have brown spots because my skin is olive tan. It takes forever for the marks to go away.

Hmmm... I always wax and them jump right in the shower (mostly because I suck at getting all of the wax off.) But the hot water which opens pores, scrubbing which exfoliates and a plain, all natural lotion afterward has kept post wax pimples at bay for me. If I quickly wax my lip and don't shower, I zit up.

At least it is a cheap and easy thing to try!

I read somewhere a few years ago that mud masks are great for clearing out pores after using wax...so I started using a brand that I found at Target (I think it's just called Mud Mask - pretty original huh? lol). I put it on about 20 minutes after I wax, and I haven't had any issues breaking out since. I also use Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask too.

I have found that icing the area down right before and right after works better than the heat. I switched to that the last few times I waxed and have had much better results -- almost no breakouts. However, I've also been willing to live with a few zits for a couple of days to get the longer term effects of waxing. Also, different parts have different reactions -- the lip never breaks out, the eyebrows about half the time, and the chin and neck the most frequently.

Although I will say that whenever I have a professional do it with whatever stuff they've got, I almost never have a problem. I just hate to pay and I can wax much more easily at home. For legs and bikini line, though, always a professional.

Try "Tend Skin." It is very strong, so buy a small bottle and just try it in one spot to see how your skin reacts to it.
