Ways to tell your husband and family that your pregnant?
Hey everyone.... I am not pregnant yet. 4dpo. I cant wait to get that bfp. With my first child my husband was holding the test and told me that we were having a baby.. I wanted to do something really nice this time.
So let me hear all those ideas....

Well, I was thinking of this one for my family, not for DH, but it could work... I thought it'd be funny to give them all jars of Prego Spaghetti sauce for Christmas. You could make him dinner and just start emphasizing that you used Prego sauce!

I have thought of two different ways to tell DH. 1. I often tie cute little notes around the dogs collars and make them deliver them to him. So I thought about tying the + hpt to his collar and having him deliver it to DH. 2. I'm going to buy a kitty litter scooper and wrap it up and give it to him "just because"... lol... might take him a few to figure it out!! We have a cat, so that will become his chore for 9+ months, so what better way than to let him start with a clean fresh kittybox scooper!!!

I'm planning on using the opportunity to give him a high-quality digital camera-- something he's been dying to have for years. I'm going to take a picture of the HPT and the positive hCG serum result with it, and tell him I took a few pictures with it to try it out... "hope you don't mind". Though, if it happens this cycle, I might have to rethink this idea since I have merely a week to sell a bunch of crap behind his back to earn the money to buy it. We'll see!

last time I told Dh by giving him a card with the congrats on the baby on the way..Signed it with my name with baby due date...Once dh knew he told the family. my cousin did a very cute thing. her sister-in-law was already pregnant, so they brought over a big box as a present for the baby-on-the-way, and when it was opened two helium balloons floated out tied together with a sign that said "a cousin!" but you could do it with just one balloon that says "a grandchild" or whatever.
if i get my bfp the week before thanksgiving, i am going to make happy thanksgiving cards for my family, signed from the baby. and for my husband i will make a card with a list of what i am thankful for, him being at the top of the list of course, and then our new house, etc. and OUR PEANUT as the last thing on the list. Well, this just popped into my head...and I hope if I do get a BFP, that I'll manage to keep quiet about it...as I literally am the type to go hollering through the house. lol.
But we sometimes refer to our kids, as "Thing 1, Thing 2, Thing 3, and Thing 4" you know from Cat in the Hat?
So I could get a red baby t, and put an iron on that says "Thing 5"...
Don't know if I could last that long without breaking it to him though.

Samie, that's such a cute one for you! I hope you get the chance to do that soon!
Something I would love to do is to be able to send our parents a picture frame with the u/s picture in it. It would be even better if it was when we were home for Christmas but that's starting to look like it won't happen.

i am loving the cat litter scooper idea... i was reading it and just busted up laughing..although we have a authomatic cat liter box we still have to empty it out and i always tell my DH that he better appreciate not having to do it now b/c he is going to have to do it for 9+ months straight.. my husband is always right there when im taking a HPT he actually is the one that buys them and tries to make me poas lol. anyway the way i thought of telling my family was putting a pic of the 1st ultrasound in a blank card and hand it to my grandmother.. who would end up being great grandmother for my child... and i know she will know right away.. but as she opens it and pauses just telling her meet your great grandchild... i know shell bust into tears!

my mom had said to my aunt once, that the digital frames that switch pictures are for grandmothers. so i was thinking that when i get my BFP we will give her the frame and tell her we put pictures in it already. when she plugs it in ,it will be the picture of the U/S

What cute ideas! My hubby and I spend time together riding our Harley, visiting Harley stores, etc. So...when I got my bfp in August I went to the local dealership and bought him yellow Harley baby booties, and gave them to him when I got him. It was priceless.

My idea is a bit on the odd side lol.I'm a bit of a creative nut & Iv been working on a poster dream board. It starts at the bottom with a picture of me on one side before I met the DH and him on the other bottom corner then our foot print paths meet and along the way our dog's foot prints join in, I also added in the house we bought ya know milestones. for now we are up to the cradle. As soon as we get sonogram pictures ect. I'm going to add them to the poaster, fill in the steps for the first trimester and send one to my mother and my grandmother.
Either that or like Sammie, I'll be screaming my stinkin head off as soon as I see the line. I try not to tell the DH when I'm testing so he doesn't get all nervous and dissapointed too. I still have NO idea how to tell him though when it does happen. Maybe I'll take pic of the BFP and load it on his Wii... lol

I didn't read the whole thread so someone may have said already, but I reall yhope to get my BFP the week before Thanksgiving. If I do, I will be around 6 weeks at Christmas. I want to wait 6 weeks minimum before telling my parents, but not sure I could wait. But it would be so cool to cut out a picture of a baby from a magazine or something, and wrap it in a box, and give to my parents. Or make a card and put it in the box.
