Default We're gettin' started

I had a dr. appt yesterday to talk over our embryo adoption and I just had to share. (the official orientation appointment isn't until monday). I'm so excited because I was able to find out the quality of the embryos. There are a total of 6. The numbers go like this - .50, .75, .75, 1.50, 2.00, 2.00. Three of good quality and three not so good, but hey, they're better than mine ever were. I also know that the bio parents have 3 children of their own. I'm still not sure how DH and I will go about telling people if we get pregnant. None of that really matters, I guess.
I think the transfer June 5th. I'm excited, but trying not to get too excited for fear of it not working. One step at a time.

Good luck Beth on your upcoming embryo implantation!

Some advice about "telling people". I would tell some close friends and of course family about what's going on (for support), but be careful about telling people at work about anything until after you tell your Supervisor (to make it official - put it in writing). I just got laid off from work last Friday after telling a few co-workers and the HR Manager that I was pregnant. They are offerring me "hush" money (severance package), but I'm going to consult with an attorney before I make any decisions.

Some people can be inconsiderate and may not understand what you are doing and what you are going through. So waiting until you feel comfortable - after your pregnancy hormones settle down and when you feel like everything is going to be okay - then you may want to start telling the WORLD about your new baby or then again - is it really any of their business how you conceived. Is it important for them to have that information?

Best of luck - wishing you lots of babydust***********

Thanks for everyone's support.

Websissy, thanks for the advice on what and when to tell people. It's helped a lot. I haven't even had my transfer yet and am worrying about what to tell people. You are right, it is none of their business how we concieved. The only thing that might be a little obvious is that these kids (hoping for twins) won't look anything like their blue-eyed, blonde haired parents. (bio parents are brown haired, brown-eyed) At least I'll get to use the "their the mailman's kids" line. Oh, and good luck with your adventures.

Beth
