We got our referral yesterday- (well not really a referral- we found him on the Carolina Hope website- and we sent the paperwork in yesterday- and they called today- saying he's OURS!!!!

keep us in your prayers please- that we don't get too bad of a delay- especially with the treaty....

they told us- possibly anytime between 4-7 months!!!

great news for all!

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. Yes, I'm still on cloud 9. It really hasn't hit me yet. I still feel like I'm in a dream and I'm going to wake up any minute.

Dna,
We will be back before you leave for your trip. We have to stay 3 days. This time, we are just going to get in, and get out, but once he is a little older, we hope to go back to Guatemala as tourists.

Jen,
You are in my prayers always. I hope you have a speedy process. I looked on the CH photolisting and saw your little guy. He is so adorable!!!

Can't wait to hear when you all get to travel too.

I am soooooo happy for you. I was just talking to a friend of mine over lunch today about our adoption and saying how we were trying to be careful not to get our hopes up since there are still about 5 things that could go wrong, but your news has gotten me re-excited that it really can happen.

Are you ready? Room painted, crib ready, car seat, stroller..... I am so happy for you that you are now a MOM!

CONGRATS!

KGJacob,

Yes, we do have everything ready. I've had his room done for a few months now. It kept my mind busy for the months that I worked on it. I did a winnie the pooh room (new Pooh). I even painted a mural on the wall over his bed. His walls are a sunshine yellow. The only thing I'm missing are a shelf my Dad is going to build, and a rocking chair that my Sister and a couple of my friends are going to buy.

My Mom has been helping me gather things a little at a time, so I wouldn't be too overwelmed. My MIL took me to Carter's to buy a whole wardrobe (for Zach) to take to Guatemala.

I am so hoping and praying to hear your good news.

When I get back, I'll post some new pictures and tell about our trip.

Keep me posted on your progress,

Oh FUN!!!!!!!!!!

Dh and I bought the border for our baby boy's room-
(SOON VERY SOON)

its a winnie the pooh- classic pooh- when they look like animals more- in a sage green- we'll do it the ivory/green colors in the border- I'm getting SO excited now-

only about 4-6 months- (GOD willing- no delays)

I wonder in abandonment cases- (we don't do the DNA things- right?) it should be clear clean and cut and dry right-
he's out of abandonment (4/4/03) and we sent in the rest of our things today in fact- so by the beginning of May- it should be in Guatemala- so it would be 4-6 months then- but usually I hear that abandonment takes SEVERAL months- and he was in it- from November- April- but wasn't listed until Feb. so we didn't since the wait for that- in fact it said we didn't have to be INS approved and just have our homestudy started- which that's exactly were we where- so we asked about him on April 3rd- and the next day- he was out- and they are having us rush rush our stuff- to them (different agency) more application things- and redoing a couple of dossier things- and finishing it- so that it's all ready to send late april/ early may- they said to us- that since he was abandonment- they do them as quick as possible- and if nothing on the dossier throws up red flags- medical (clear) criminal report (clear) and things like that- it's more on the 4 month side- so it could be anytime from September to December is what we're thinking- (if the treaty doesn't mess anything up- or nothing goes wrong)- so he'll be a year old- when he comes home-

YIPEE... to all-

Oh Jen! I so hope it is closer to the 4 month side for you. It is my understanding that since the case is abandonment, you don't have to do DNA, so that should knock off some time.

It took us 5 months to the day, (from Dossier to BM signoff). Keep in mind that yours could be shorter since you won't have to deal with the Christmas shut down. That added about a month because the FC was so behind.

Best of luck,

THANK YOU for the wishes-

I truley hope it's more like 4 months too- but I'm such a pestimist- so It'll be the 6 month mark- NO- keep positive-
Joel Armando will be home- soon- very soon-

even with the treaty issues- right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

September would be wonderful- especially because dh's nephew and his wife are "expecting" their baby to be born around that time ---- CHRISTMAS is going to be so wonderful- because we'll go from no babies- to two babies in the family

and my in laws will be grand parents again- and great grand parents all in the same year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(dh's is 10 years older than me and his sister is 12 years older than him- she's my mom's age!) so I have a nephew (and his wife) and a niece now older than me!

let him come home soon-...

Talking Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a wonderful trip to Guatemala. It's a beautiful country and the people are wonderful. And to top it off there is one lucky baby and blessed Mommy and Daddy who will be united there.

(I still remember when we got the call the "out of PGN" call and news that Justin and Maria were ours--I cried so hard for half an hour afterwards my poor DH had to finally take me off his shoulder and ask, "Are these happy tears?" LOL--more like relief and joy tears.)

Best wishes bringing home that BEAUTIFUL baby boy of YOURS! Can't wait to read your travel story.
