Default Weight Gain

This is my first post. I was diagnosed with PCOS in Februrary 09. My ob/gyn took me off of BC May 08 due to high blood pressure. I gained a good 8 lbs almost immediately after. I went on weight watchers and lost a good 10lbs. Despite following the diet, my weight crept back up and I am now at my heaviest - ever and now borderline overweight than just normal/average weight.

All my bloodwork in March came back normal. I called my RE and begged to be retested and to check my thyroid. When I called, they encouraged me to go onto South Beach, but they would also recheck my bloodwork and check my thyroid.

I am now on Day 8 of South Beach, and I have unquenchable thirst. For example, this morning I had 3 bottles of water before noon (thank goodness my office supplies these for free). I have been working out more in the past two months than I have in years (biykram yoga, cardio, and weights) yet I still feel bloated. It sounds awful but I am hoping that my bloodwork is abnormal so at least I know I am not crazy and that there is something wrong with me.

If you have read this far, thanks. Anyone else go through anything similar?

What is the best way that you guys have found to combat the weight gain? Atkins? BCP?

Yes I have found the weight gradually creeping up. Personally I think it is due to oestrogen dominance as I have really noticed it around my thighs. Low GI just doesn't work in this case and I am now trying Natural Progesterone Cream to try and balance out the hormones. This is along with low GI too.

I fight with the weight yo-yo to. I'd say about two years ago my doctor had me do a mixture of the atkins and south beach diets and exercise. It helped some but once I was back on BC all of it came back. I finally did my own thing and stopped eating pork and chicken. I cut out all sweets and sodas etc. I walked three and a half miles everyday and used the ab lounge and bowflex and dropped 145lbs in a summer, I did lost the weight to fast though and now my extra skin is putting too much weight on my ovaries and I have to have surgery to remove the skin.
