It's absolutely true--that's when the baby(ies) do most of their growing--up to then, they've been developing organs and now they need to get bigger and have their organs mature to full functionality. I don['t know what your doctor told you about how much weight you should gain--with my twins, I was told to gain about 50lbs. Since they were born at 36wk, I had gained about 40lbs, but at a fairly steady rate of 1.5-2lbs/every week, probably starting around week 24 or so, don't remember exactly. If I had gone 40 weeks, probably would have gained closer to 50lb.

I'm only a few weeks ahead of you, Ashie, but I've been gaining about .5-1lb/week since week 26 (I'm now up 10-11 lbs at 29wks) and the Dr said expect 1lb/week from now on.

I've gained about the same amount, but I'm having a singleton. From your pic, we look around the same weight. If your OB isn't concerned, then you shouldn't be either. I have a friend who is extra fluffy and she only gained 5 lbs the entire pregnancy.

I am extra fluffy and the Dr. didn't want me to gain more than 15lbs. I am almost to week 34 and i have gained 6lbs To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. I actually lost 3 lbs this last month.
well done stacy, must make you feel good knowing you havent gained much? less to lose afterwards right? lol.. my dr isnt to concerend with how much i gain, since im going steady so far, but my twins are a little on the small size, im 26 (almost 27) weeks and they are only measuring 23 weeks. but he said, they are nutritionaly healthy but just small, so i have to go back in 3 weeks insted of my usual 4 to make sure they are growing.
i wasnt sure how much weight in the third trimester was normal, since my belly or scales havent really changed in the last 2 weeks. but then again i have just entered 3rd trimester so we'll see!

I lost 13lbs in the first trimester
Gained about 10 of them back in the second trimester
And so far at 36 weeks I have gained 9 pounds in the third trimester
So I am currently 6lbs heavier than I was when I got my BFP. I'm sure I will gain some more in the next couple weeks as well!

With my first I had gained only 10lbs as of the start of the 3rd trimester. 25lbs quickly piled on those last few months... and I couldn't lose it afterwards either. Chalk it up to very poor eating habits.
This pregnancy I'm only up 6lbs at 32 weeks! I can still wear non-maternity pants, too To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
