I hope I see 142 one of these days! Now that you have a starting point you'll be able to track your weight loss better. Are you dieting as well? just increasing your work out level? or a mixture of both?

My Mood: Points: 1,757.83 Bank: 37,148.68 Total Points: 38,906.51 | Actually both. I've increased my exercise substantially over the past... maybe four months, and have unfortunately not seen ANY results. AT ALL. It's very frustrating. As for diet, I didn't eat unhealthily, but just in the past month I've really been trying to BALANCE my food for the entire day. You know, having protein, carbs, fiber, etc., all in a healthy ratio.
In an attempt to lose weight, I had cut myself down to 1400 calories, which really didn't help my body (I went into a state of deprevation), so I guess we're still trying to recover from that. I've moved up to about 1700-1800 calories a day, which gives me the energy to exercise while not overloading me. I'm STILL not seeing any results in the way my body looks and feels.... that jeans shopping experience I was telling you about? I have NEVER worn such a large size before. EVER. And it was really distressing having to go up that high. Plus, I'm only 5'0'', so finding ANYTHING that fits is basically a nightmare.
Anyway, I'm sorry. I guess I just needed to rant a little. Enough about me... how about yourself? What are you doing, food wise? How long have you been trying to lose weight? Any previous successes?
Thanks for enduring my rant. *blush*

My Mood: Points: 49,398.01 Bank: 16,107,112.08 Total Points: 16,156,510.09 | Hi! Sorry it took so long to get back to you! I had to go have a tooth pulled today....Totally Awful!!
Rant away...I think we all need to let steam off on occasion. As for not seeing results, I've heard that once you aren't seeing a change or improvement you need to change the type of work out you are doing. For example if you've been swimming and have lost weight but then you seem to "stick" where you are that you need to start say bike riding. It tricks your body into a new program and you should start losing again.
As for shopping I am with you on that! I am only 5'2 and weigh way to much for me! I am watching what I eat, and have gone on to a diabetic diet as I seem to be having some raised blood sugar levels and losing weight and watching what I eat can help control them better. I am starting out slow on the workouts. With warmer weather and less rain the next couple of days I'll get out and walk with the kiddos as well as work in the garden/lawn which I know can help as well. The more I workout the better!
I just took some pain meds, so i'm going to head to bed. I'll catch ya tomorrow!

I have a workout book called "the deffinition workout" or something like that ( I don't have it in front of me...) and I had great sucess with that before. I'll do those workouts and the diabetic diet and see what happens. I also just started trying to lose weight after two years of being pg and not being able to really "diet". although I did lose weight with both pregnancy's! I had started low-carbing right before I got pg the first time so I will also try that some.
Night!

My Mood: Points: 1,757.83 Bank: 37,148.68 Total Points: 38,906.51 | My goodness... having a tooth pulled is definitely a good reason to rest! Ouch! I've never had to do that, but I did have surgery to have 8 teeth removed when they were trying to fit me for braces. That was miserable. But anyway, I'm sorry you had to do it! Are you feeling any better today?
I hear you on changing exercise routines... unfortunately I don't have a lot of options. I really can't afford a gym right now, so it's the treadmill, walking/jogging outside, or stretching. I do have some 2lb weights that I use for resistance, and I have some resistance bands in the closet... I guess I should pull those out. I am alternating the types of workout videos I do - cardio, dance, sculpting, endurance, and I even do some bellydancing on occasion! (Never where anyone could see me... because it's NOT pretty!) lol.
Good for you for being on a diabetic diet - I know those aren't easy! I hope that it helps you. And as far as exercise, we all have to start slow... 5 minutes one day can turn into 10 minutes the next day... and even if we're only doing 10 minutes of light gardening or something, that's a whole lot better than nothing! And playing with kids is exhausting, I know. I don't have any myself, but I'm around my best friend's toddler a lot, and she's quite a handful! So much energy!
Well, I hope you are feeling better today. One step at a time... that's what I keep telling myself. So, yesterday, I did my 45 min. walk (pushing the 27lb toddler in a jog stroller!), and today I'll probably do the same, because it actually looks sunny outside.
Keep up the good work!

It's cool that you do belly dancing! I'd like to try that later on after I've lost at least some of the weight (other wise it really wouldn't be pretty! LOL) Did you get your walk in? Today looks pretty here so I may get a chance to take a walk. I'd also like to work in the garden as I didn't get to the last couple of days.
I need to go grab brunch and get a move on. I'll check in later today.

My Mood: Points: 1,757.83 Bank: 37,148.68 Total Points: 38,906.51 | Good to hear from you! Yep, I got a BIG walk in yesterday (pushed myself a bit harder than I may should have), but I'm doing great today. It's SO sunny right now, and I'm DYING to ditch work and go out and soak up this sunlight! haha. I really love sunshine.
Yeah, my friend actually convinced me to try bellydancing. She and another lady from our congregation had done a class, and loved it! It's truly an amazing workout, but I warn you, it's hard not to feel bad about our bodies when we see those fit professional dancers. But if you can find some flow-y, non-form-fitting fabric, and get a little shimmy belt (one with something that jangles, like coins, so you can tell when you're "shaking" enough... hehe), and just don't think about how we look, it's great!
Hope you're able to get out today, whether walking or in the garden. Talk to you later!

Working out in the garden then off to take a short walk with the kiddo's.
Sounds like you did a great job yesterday on the walk!! I'll write more later. Gotta keep moving or I'll lose steam...LOL

Ugh... yesterday I was SO sick, so I didn't get any exercise in. I also ate horribly, because I got chocolate for my birthday (the 13th) and V-day. I'm hoping to get a really good walk in today after work.
Did you have a good Valentine's Day?

My Mood: Points: 1,757.83 Bank: 37,148.68 Total Points: 38,906.51 | Hi. Sorry I didn't check in all weekend. Well, for the official weigh-in... I have gained exactly two pounds. I am SO discouraged. I'm still exercising almost every day, and eating an incredibly balanced diet. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I have to be doing something wrong.
How about you? Did you have better luck than I on Sunday?

Have you tried changing your diet some? Maybe that would help. I'll look at the book I have and see maybe if there is some idea's I can send your way. I didn't remember to weigh in yesterday. I've been walking almost everyday, but I came down with the colds my DD's have been fighting all week and I was MISERABLE!! However, We did adopt a dog over the weekend. He's such a handsome guy! He is part chow-chow and part Australian Shepard. He just loves the babies! I don't know who gets more kisses, him or my oldest daughter! They always seem to be following each other around. He is 8 months old and is HUGE! but such a lovable teddy bear! He also had tons of energy so it makes us get us and go with him! I hope that will help with the weight loss department. I'll weigh in the morning and see what I come up with.

My Mood: Points: 1,757.83 Bank: 37,148.68 Total Points: 38,906.51 | Man, I can't wait till we get out of this "cold season", can you? Sorry you're sick again.
That's great about the dog! What's his name? Do you have any pictures? I sometimes wish I could be a pet owner, but I have terrible allergies. That's good that he is good with the kids... sometimes big dogs are just too much for little kids to handle! You know the friend's toddler I've been telling you about? She learned early on how to stick her hand out and push their big black lab away... and she (the dog) had to relearn "pack order". But they're great friends now.
Hopefully he will be another "excuse" to get out... we can use all the motivation we can get!
I would be more than happy to read any advice you could send along.
Have a good day.

Well I weighed myself and I gained a little back....Darn Valentines Day!!! I'll try harder this week, if all the sickies start feeling better. I took a look at my book and I'll try and post some info later today.
