Default weight loss cocktail

Hey Cysters,

Like so many of you I too am having a huge degree of diffuculty losing weight. For the past year I have had an extreme workout regiment (working out 5-6 times a week cardio (spin, cardiokick, elliptical, treadimill etc) at a high intensity for about 1-1.5 hours, 2 days a week of hard weight training with atrainer and a low carb and caloric diet... and of couse i have yet to lose a pound (gotta love PCOS)

my doctor recently prescrbed me metformin to help me lose weight... and after 5 days of not being able to leave my house (at the 500mg dose)... dixxiness, nausea, vomiting, migrains, MassiveGI problems i have quit and am now looking for something else to help meattain my weight loss goals

Basically i have been reading alot of info and am thinking of making myself a little suppliment cocktail if you will

I was thinking of including
Vitamin D3
Chromium (triedthis previously by itself with no results)
Inostitol (tried previously solo with no results)
L carnitine

Has anyone tried this particular mix? or any others they found useful?

any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks All! Happy Holidays!

I would check out the threads on Hyponidd and Cinnamon here. There has been some research that both can help with regulating blood sugars which in turn can help you lose weight.

Ya, i used to eat a tblsp of cinnamon with whatever I had for brakfast. It got old fast so I picked up some cinnamon tablets. I take them with breakfast, that has been helping.

I'm going to give a shout-out for the Inositol, but suggest pairing it with the Choline. For me it's been like a little magic bullet in helping with things.

I experienced the best results with a daily multivitamin (chewable) first thing in the morning, a cup or two of plain green tea every day, a few less carbs, and a good walk every day. I wasn't exercising strenuously by any means, but having the REGULAR activity was a huge boost. I felt great, had very few migraines ( a major accomplishment for me), balanced somewhere between maintaining my weight and losing 2 lb per week, was relaxed, and got pregnant twice! (on NuvaRing~ Go figure.) M/c though, unfortunantely. I have somehow let myself get off track, and am doing the prescription meds thing, but I hate it. Time to drop the drugs and live healthier again. :-)

THANKS!!
I'm very happy to say that I've managed to start losing with the Choline-Inositol. The weight-loss ticker in my sig is all weight lost after starting the supplement. As far as how quickly I started losing weight - I can't really give you a solid time frame because I didn't really start monitoring my weight until 12/22.

I do know that I started taking the pills on 12/14. I had a doctor's appointment on 12/29 and I know I was a lower weight than the last time I'd been weighed. Since then I've continued to lose. It's also helped with other things for me like mood (it's almost as if it's enhancing the effectiveness of the SJW & 5-HTP) and my cycle (well, so far it's just stopped the spotting, but I'll take it!).

I will make the suggestion of getting the two seperate, because it's more cost effective. I started off with a combo pill, but the bottle lasted me less than a month. I'm now taking them in two seperate pills and the bottles are looking to last me at least a month, if not a month and a half.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner

I take the Choline with the Inositol dosage, so before or at the start of each meal. The combo pills I was taking had me taking about 200mg/serving. I believe when you buy the Choline on it's own, it's about 500mg, which (once I get it .. grr) I will continue taking with the Inositol 2 to 3 times a day with meals.

I researched and as long as you remain below 3000mg/day, you're safe. The RDA for Choline is between 400 and about 600mg/day.

So you can probably choose the dosage you're most comfortable with - personally I just prefer the idea of getting a steady dosage throughout the day, instead of all at once.

Also, if you can, attempt to get both in capsule form instead of tablet form. IMO capsules are absorbed better.
