Okay...so now I'm wondering what's wrong with me. Why didn't my weight loss help?

Nothing's wrong with you, it can help *some* women, not all.
Everyone should always keep in mind that what works for me, or the next person, won't necessarily work for another person.
We are all different, we may have similarities, but all of us have different genetics, environments, and lifestyles. Each of those play into who we are, how our bodies respond, or don't respond, etc.
There may also be something underlying that's affecting your ovulation/cycles.
It may even be something that doctors are still unaware of.
I think that's what frustrates me the most when I read and talk to other women with PCOS and their doctors, always want to assume its "this" or "that" and almost refuse to acknowledge that its a combination of issues. Its what I like to refer to as a "band-aid mentality". The big downfall of most Western Medicine is that they itemize everything, instead of looking at the bigger picture. Ah, but I digress...

I didn't mention before that a few years ago I lost about 20 pounds on WW and I did NOT begin ovulating. There are a few things different this time though. One, I am older and I think for some crazy reason I am leveling out as I age. Two, this time I lost weight with a low carb diet (low GI, whatever you call it). I have a feeling that besides the weight loss, it has helped regulate my hormones.

Honestly I was shocked that I started ovulating again. My body has a mind of its own and what has worked for so many others has never worked for me (clomid, met, etc.). But really, any weight loss is great and I'm sure no matter what, it will help with the TTC in the long run.

Julie...that's so helpful, because I did WW...maybe I'll try the more low carb mentality. Not to lose more weight, but as a more natural approach just to see what happens.

Samie...I love that you are always there to keep people sane
