Question Weight loss plateau???

I'm 165cm and 61kg's, and although I'm not technically 'overweight' I'm still having to exercise like a mad woman to maintain this weight (two years ago I weighed 56kg). My Dr put me on Met 'cause she's convinced I've developed IR... I'm only 24, and as she sees it (taking into consideration my physical activity levels) I should be weighing around 55 kg. Will Met help me to lose weight even though there's not much to lose, and if so, how long will I have to wait?... I have already lost 2-3kg, but I seem to have come to a stand still. I'm taking 2000mg a day.
