Default Weight loss and your hormones

I have recently dropped some weight. I'm not sure how much, but enough to notice by appearance and by my clothes. I'd say roughly 15 pounds. Anyway, I notice that since I've dropped some, I feel my hormones are all over the place and noticed that some of the "old" symptoms I had are re-appearing.

I was on Yasmin and feel that it stopped working as it was as I'm confident I had or had tried to ovulate and my periods were starting to start a bit early or a bit late and have a lot of symptoms again. A stray hair here or there appeared. I was suppose to start a new pack this week, but with it not working 100%, and paying $35 a pop, I figured I'd go off a month and see if I get my period on my own. If not, it's back of to the dr.

My question is, did anyone have any sort of similar reactions when you dropped a few pounds? Did it throw your body out of wack for a bit again?

Yup! A few years ago I tried and suceeded in losing about 10 lbs. At the time I weighed between 105-110 and I'm 5'2". I started getting yeast infections, and other problems which I'd never had before. After that, even when I gained the weight back, and then some, the symptoms didn't go away. I was on the pill for most of the time, but when I went off briefly, my thyroid took a nosedive.

Don't know if this info helps, but it sure does look like we are prisoners of our hormones!
