My Mood: Points: 1,223.80 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,223.80 | I have had the same problems. All through my teenage years they kept telling me I was obese, when in all actuality I was average for my height and muscle density. It wasn't until I went to an endocrinologist at 17 that they diagnosed me with PCOS. I also know that if you are underweight, that you have more chances of m/c or the ivf treatments not working at all. Just have faith in whatever you may believe in and in yourself. That is all I can hope for. |

I guess weight can affect our hormones or our weight is caused by hormone problems which can affect getting pregnant and staying pregnant.
I hope this is the case!! :o)
Is Clomid less effective on heavier women? | I answered my own questions. 1st time on 50 mgs of clomide and 1500 mgs. Met. I got pregnant.
I did ovulate for 20 years. No matter what size I was, they blamed my weight. Well low and behold at 36 years old a Dr. finally took the time to figure out I have ALWAYS been insulin resistant.

I have lost 35lbs so that the dr. would take me seriously. My Dr. also focused alot on my loosing weight to help my chances. |

My Mood: Points: 1,223.80 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,223.80 | I know how you feel about getting weighed. Drs are so blinded by everything else they want to diagnose that they aren't paying attention to the big picture. I went to one in sept. of last year with horrible stomach pain and the dr kept trying to tell me that i was diabetic or that i was putting too much strain on my body, and then proceded to try and tell me that it was just cause i was overweight. come to find out my gallbladder had ruptured and two stones had lodged into my bile duct. my weight had nothing to do with any of it. the thing about it is yes I am overweight but for my height build and muscle mass only about 30 lbs overweight. i just couldn't believe that this dr could have killed me all because she thought it was a weight issue. I want everyone to know that no matter whether you are over or underweight do not let the dr you see focus on that. it is mostly not because of what you eat or your activity level, there is an underlying cause. once you find out what it is then you will start to lose or gain. i want everyone to know that even the slightest imbalance in hormones can cause weight gain. think about your cycles and how they affect how your clothes fit. just take care of yourselves and everything will fall into place. God Bless |

I sometimes don't go to my appointments because I don't want to be put on the scale. | If you can, I would find a new Dr. one that is willing to work with you regardless :o) Again, look at me. 350 lbs. 36 yrs old, annovulatory for 20 years and Whammo.....Once the Dr. figured out "WHY" my hormones were out of wacked and fixed the HORMONE problem, everything worked the 1st try.
The problem is not your weight, it is that your weight may be throwing your hormones off. Losing a bit of weight may not do a darn thing, why wait around. Just my opinion :o) Best Wishes!!!

God Bless | EXACTLY....underlying cause!!! I have been insulin resistant from my teenage years (that is why I NEVER got a period to begin with) maybe if the FAT PREDJUDICE Doctors would have figured that out I would not be 350lbs!!!!! I didn't start gaining weight until my late teens. Now I realize that alot of it is because my body does not process insulin quick enough and it turns to fat quicker. I have been every size and weighed from 135lbs and very physically fit (Played 3 sports in High School) to my weight now! The ONLY time I ever got my period on my own was when I was 34 years old and doing the South Beach diet before my wedding. WHAMMO.....2 periods within a few months of each other. The stupid Dr.'s still ignored that. I had to PUSH AND PUSH for them to run tests and figure out what was going on. So I was at my heaviest at 34 and got my period on my own.
It was the most annoying thing I have ever experienced!!!
Do not except the " your overweight" Take control of your fertility and do not let any Doctor's intimidate you. :o) Im sick of it!!! I would not be in the position (almost 9 weeks pregnant) if I let the Dr.'s keep blaming my weight.
