My first OB/GYN was the same way. In fact, I went as far as to have lap band surgery done to help me lose the weight. And unfortunately, I have had little luck with it. But, with a Dr. switch...things are looking up again.

What a fabulous thread!!! I have seen some pretty crazy Dr's in my day, ones that told me NOT getting my period for 7 months was OK!!!!!
and other's who said lose 20lbs and life will work out the way I want it!!! WTF???
Anyway, good luck ladies and baby dust

Thanks so much for posting this. I'm definitely bringing this with me to my next appointment with the RE.
I've lost weight, but not as much as she wanted me to before starting Clomid, but I'm honestly sick of waiting. It's been 6 months...and I'm not getting any younger or any less impatient.

This thread is like a breath of fresh air. I currently weigh 205 pounds and have lost 20 pounds already. I am an average size 14 and I don't consider myself fat. I am so sick and tired of hearing that I need to lose weight EVERY DAM TIME I SEE THE DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never mind the weight I have already lost. Heaven forbid they acknowledge that!
I am still losing, and TTC #2. Found out 2 weeks ago I WAS 6 weeks pregnant, but we lost the baby. I was told during my ultrasound that I have beautiful ovaries and a plush uterus! Hmmmm, that has NOTHING to do with fat!!!!
I wish doctors would be a little more sensitive to a woman's feelings instead of cramming the weight down our throats.

i didnt get pregnant untill i droped 30lbs , then boom i concieved with out fertility treatments..i was sick of all the poking and prodding , and the clomid gave me hriable mood swings , so i just got sick of failed fertilty treatments , so i stopped ..i was just taking the met , got on a serious diet , joined a gym ... I dont kow about ivf , i could never afford that , but i do recomend anyone to try to lose weight b4 conceiving ..as a pcoser i knoe , god do i know how hard it is , but i believe it makes for a healthier pregnancy and it ups your chances of concpetion ...gestational diabetis is another reason you should try to shed some pounds b4 conception as well... | |
