Default Weight and periods

for the thin cysters - did you find that putting on a bit more weight if you needed to, helped to kickstart your cycles?

I need to put on weight and was wondering if putting any weight on so my BMI is better will help things?

I was told to put on weight as well, and I knew I needed to. I was 102-105lbs. and was told to put on about 10-15. Well, I put on about 12 lbs. and have had no changes in beginning a cycle. I'm frusterated with not knowing the "fix" for starting a normal cycle, and possibly getting prego. I begin with a new dr. this week, a fert. endocrinologist. Will see how this goes....cross your fingers.

I am 5'9 and 125. At one point I went up to 130, but then I started metformin and lost 5 pounds. I am not sure if the weight made any difference.

When I was at my normal weight, I would have periods maybe every 3-4 months if lucky. When I lost weight and esd underweight, I struggled to have periods even after ovulating on clomid.
I put the weight back on and was due to start injections early this week. However, we have to delay and weight for a period first as blood tests showed I had just ovulated on my own, quite a novelty for me. It's good in one way but I am still upset because it means more waiting before starting injections.

It is hard to say if the weight is the factor in all of this, but I am sure it will help to be at a reasonable weight. It may mean better estrogen levels if ovulation is induced with clomid or other meds.
I think it is always better to be at a good weight, even if it doesn't start cycles.
