I'm on a plateau, too. Don't know what it is. My doc gave me a thyroid med along with the met I'd been taking for 5 months at the last appointment. He said that would help my weight loss even more, but it hasn't. I don't think the Met helped my weight loss either, since I lost at exactly the same rate as before I started taking it. My weight loss lately went from an average of 1 lb a week to 1lb a MONTH....and now none. Makes me want to eat a bag of potato chips if I'm not going to lose any weight anyway. Just kidding, I know the low carb is good for me even without the weight loss, but I really hate it...low carbing, that is. I had never lost weight with any other diet or excercise program before, though, so I probably shouldn't hate it so much.
I hope you get off your plateau. It's just rediculous.

I just posted about this in the Diet and Exercise forum - check it out! I think the title is "does the body refuse to go below a certain point" I'm on Met also but it has not helped with weight loss for me, that I know of.

If you've been doing 'steady state' cardio, you might want to switch to 'interval cardio' for awhile. That ALWAYS gets the scale moving in the right direction for me.
Steady State = you stay at the same intensity level for most of the workout
Interval Cardio = you alternate periods of more intensity with periods of less intensity during the workout

Ahh yes, the plateau is very common! I had one myself, but not the big one my doctor keeps predicting I'll hit soon.
But as my doc says, if you keep going with eating well and exercising during your plateau, when you drop off the other side, it will be a DROP, not a mere step! So keep going!
Congratulations on the weight you have lost!!!! It can be sooooo frustrating to not be able to go below a certain point. I understand and I am cheering for you!!!
Congratulations on the weight you lost!! You're definitely not alone on the plateau. I was at my heaviest when I got pregnant with my son. After he was born, I started dieting and exercising and lost 20 pounds beyond the preg weight that I gained. At that point I was at a weight that had been a common one for me and I hit a plateau. I really believe that my body is just used to and comfortable with that weight so while it wasn't that hard to get down to that weight, it's been really hard to get past it. Recently I started strictly counting my calories and staying at 1200 a day as well as exercising and it's starting to come off again. But boy is it hard! Good luck, I know we both can do it!
